Catching up with Dana and Tina – Chapter 33

    ***

Tina’s life was in total chaos as she took on the full responsibility of tying up loose ends at Shaolin Studios in preparation for the new owners. She missed Bette and Angie terribly but with her crazy schedule she wouldn’t have had much time to spend with them regardless. Being separated from her girls forced her to take either Monday or Friday off so she could spend every other weekend in New York with them. This weekend however, Bette was bringing Angie home to celebrate her first birthday. They were expected to arrive on late Friday afternoon on the Peabody jet. Bette had arranged a car service to pick them up from the airport since it was the same day that Tina would be meeting with the new studio head Aaron Kornbluth.

Tina was summoned to the executive offices previously occupied by Helena Peabody who was still in New York working with her son’s therapists. Aaron was a no-nonsense type of guy who was in the business to make money. He didn’t beat around the bush as he made his demands and expectations very clear to the Development Executive. After an hour of being grilled about her contributions to Shaolin Studies in the nine months she was employed Aaron was satisfied that Tina would be an asset. He tells her she can keep her job if she wants it but Helena Peabody would not be offered a position and moreover he wanted Tina to be the one to fire her.

When Tina got home Bette was already there preparing dinner for them while Angie napped. Tina walked up behind Bette and put her arms around her waist. She kissed Bette’s neck as she stood at the stove stirring in chicken, noodles and vegetables into a large wok. Bette turned her head and laid it back so their lips could meet.

    “Hello baby.”

“Hey … what are you making? It smells amazing.”

“Just some stir fry noodles. I figured this would be quick and easy without a lot of bother. Are you hungry?”

    “Starving. Where’s Angie?”

“I put her down for a nap a little while ago. She was worn out from the flight. She should be getting up soon.”

Bette kept stirring the food so it wouldn’t burn but when it was finished she removed it from the hot burner and turned around to give her wife a proper greeting. She washed her hands then put them on either side of Tina’s face and drew her into a hungry wet kiss. Tina moaned and molded herself into her wife’s body as she put her arms around her waist and pulled her closer. They both deepened the kiss as they opened their mouths to let their tongues meet and savor each others sweet unique tastes. They parted after a few minutes both breathing a bit erratically.

    1. I really love Dana, i hope she put some sense in Alice, that they don’t need to interfere with Bette’s and Tina’s relationship, they did it in the past and Alice need to respect Bette’s boundaries.

I hope that Tina really thinks hard about her friendship with Helena, she doesn’t seems to be convinced that Helena means big trouble for, mostly her career, but also for her relationship with Bette.

Thank you Bat, for the three updates!

    2. Three chapters back I was feeling incomplete. I thought Tina’s confessions were too surface and accepted too easy by Bette. The way the conversation transpired was not “real” given the prsonalities of these women. It felt like two school friends were chatting. I dont think they are friends yet. They are on the road to friendship which is great. I know Bette’s goal was to show Tina she can be understanding, but that conversation was just wrong. Compare it to Bette’s confession which was full of emotion from both of them, this dialogue was like a school girl interview. I struggled with that dialogue. So… karma has entered to storyline. BAT, I now like the approach you have taken. Bette didnt have to express a negative verdict in what Tina confessed, but I think some emotion should have been displayed. Now Bette can say, without saying, “I told you so”. Karma can communicate with Tina that she played a major part in the ways her life is shaping. Sometimes when you are the victim, it is through your own doing.

    3. Great update. It’s hard to try and understand why Tina still doesn’t quite get it regarding her relationship with Helena and how damaging it is to her own integrity and reputation.
She’s talked about making a change in her life but it’s like making that decision to let go of life in LA is taken a strangle hold on her. If I had that choice, I’d take Bette and Angive and NYC in nano second! ????
