“Hey I can dance,” she protested over the laughter.
“You can grind,” Shane corrected. “But rhythm Al? You just don’t got it.”
“Yeah, a gala thrown by a law firm means waltzs, fox trots, box steps… I’ve gone to enough at my dad’s firm,” Dana said. “It is going to especially formal since this is the oldest law firm in LA representing old money.”
Seeing Alcie’s frown Tina said, “Aw, Al don’t worry… rhythm or no rhythm… we still love you.”
“Bite me.”

The rest of the afternoon and evening passed quickly as the five friend enjoyed each others company. After tons of splashing, dozen rounds of Marco Polo, more splashing, continuous failed attempt on Alice’s part to dunk Dana, and more splashing, Shane had been the first to bid goodnight.
Not too much longer after that Alice and Dana piled into the blonde’s car heading to Dana’s place.
“So what was up with you today,” Alice asked a few minutes into the drive?
“What do you mean,” the brunette asked honestly confused?
“When you showed up at Bette and T’s this afternoon, you look stressed or slightly pissed or something.”
“Are you taking yoda pills or something,” the brunette joked, while really amazed about how easy it was for the blonde to read her.
Alice just shrugged waiting for Dana to continue.
So Dana told her about everything that had happened while practicing with her teammate culminating with her feeling like an asshole when Jeff stormed off.
“There is no reason you should feel like an asshole. Yes, maybe you snapped at him because you wish you yelled at Lara… but jeez it sounds like he was being a fucking crybaby.”
“Yeah, well remind me to tell Shane she is not allowed to sleep with anyone form UCLA until I graduate,” Dana said.
“Yeah, good luck with that. What is she gonna ask to see their student IDs before she fucks them?”
Dana just laughed at the thought of Shane doing just that. She was about to ask Alice what she was up to tomorrow when a thought struck her.
“You’re not mad about us joking about your lack of rhythm,” the brunette asked, only to have Alice wave her off as she pulled up in front of Dana’s place.

The Elaine Dance? Are you talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xi4O1yi6b0 ? LOL… I LOVE Elaine… Do you have a picture of Dana teaching Al to dance? Yay for Dana finally realizing what we all knew. I wonder if she is going to do anything about it… I hope that this is the “something” (yes, I happen to agree with Shane, lol) that will motivate Dana to make some steps towards being out. Great update, anionayo! And just in case it wasn’t obvious yet, I really love the story :)
Too Late…I think that is my favorite line of this chapter. I mean drunken pirate is really good. But the other is romantic. Love the story can’t wait for more
The pool scene was a lot of fun. Loved D teaching A how to dance. You are doing a terrific job bringing them together. I have to disagree with AJ. imo, the pace is just right. As a matter of fact, I wish you could go back to their double dating. There had to be at least a couple of laughs. Well done and thank you, anionayo. Woo hoo! Now I am glad I had to work stupidly late this evening/morning! Love how you describe Dana at the beginning and all she has to go through and think about to hide her sexuality and all the frustration — so true. Dana’s ongoing reaction to the Lara break-up is very well portrayed, too. “Drunken pirate” — Hee! The interaction between all the girls at the pool was great. Love how Alice could read Dana’s mood. The impromptu dance lesson was genius. “Too late”, indeed. Excellent chapter, anionayo! Oh! And you and AJ better play nice, y’hear? ;-D
