Are you the one? Part 11

"No, she let go of me. I just ran away without looking back" Alice began to cry softly. The group shook their heads.

"What are you going to do now?" Carmen asked.

"I just don’t want to see her anymore. I’m hurt." Shane looked at Bette. Both shook their head.

"Is that really what you want Al? You just run away without knowing the truth?" Shane asked. Carmen and Tina looked at Shane and then to Bette. Bette nodded in support.

"I can’t Shane, I can’t face her again. I can’t face the truth!" Alice wiped her tears.

"Alice, I don’t see her doing anything that is intended to hurt you. All I see is that she loves you as much as you love her. I mean you two were like made for each other. I knew it, and we knew it" Shane looked at the rest of the group. All nodded.

"Do you think it is fair to her that you brushed her off by just a message? You should have asked for details, Al" Shane continued.

"And I believe that your father won’t do anything to hurt you. He loves you more than his life. Remember that you are the only one he left with since your mother died" Bette cut in.

Alice’s put her hands onto her face and shook her head. She didn’t know how to digest on this. Tina took her hands off and looked at her.

"Al, they are right, you have to talk to her. At least give yourself a chance to know the truth." Alice just looked at her and didn’t say anything.

Bette sighed and bring her attention to the watch. It was what Alice’s wanted all the while but she never bought it as she was too reluctant to spend so much for a watch. Although Alice’s family was rich, but she was very down to earth and valued every single cents she made. She flipped the watch over to the other side and was surprised to see some words carved on it. She read them but unsure what it was.

    "Alice, what is this about?"

"What?" Alice looked over at Bette, puzzled.

"This, the words carved behind" Alice took the watch as the rest looked on.

    1. Why the question mark after “Meant to be together”? Of course they are!!! and to eternity. lol. Thank you the gang’s wisdom. Nice touch with the inscription on the watch. Now A must go make nice to D. I hope it would not be too late that D had given up therefore packed up and left. It was a small set back even though she was slapped twice. btw, that was pretty harsh. I hope D would have stopped crying when A got to her hotel. A did not want a “cubby, clumsy and always crying girly girl.” Then again, that was 20 years ago, D had become a wonderful & caring person. So A could easily erase that childhood image. Please, happy Danish?! lots and lots!!! Thank you very much, uhhuh. This is another great update.

    2. What a great chapter!! So emotional… That was a pretty good plan on Alice’s part to get both her father and Dana at the restaurant. I thought Dana might have a chance when she chased Alice out of the restaurant, but, Alice was obviously not ready to listen. I am glad William had the sense to call Bette and that the friends found Alice before anything bad could happen. Thank goodness for them to have talked Alice back down and found the inscription on the watch. 30 shots leftover? Hee! I am so looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks so much, uhhuh!!
