“Hello there – can I get you both a burger or would you like some chicken?” Bette came across – James greeted her with a hug. In the months they had been with their daughter they had seen first hand how happy Bette made her. James had become very fond of Bette’s sons – he loved his grand-daughters but it had been a secret regret that he would have no grandsons – so spending time with Dan, Josh and Zak had been great for him. He could see Dan fiddling with his new remote controlled car and wanted to go across and play with him.
James accepted the food that Bette handed to him and looked around at the scene
“She seems to have picked the right gifts for the right child “
“That’s Peggy – she is a very kind person “
“Obviously – I know that we are going to miss these BBQs with all of you “
“I know that Tina is not looking forward to you going back – she’s got used to the two of you being here “
James indicated for Bette to take a couple of steps away so they could have a private conversation.
“You know that we were originally motivated to come over here because of what Ollie said about Tina. It was all lies as you know but we were curious to see how Tina was with her sexuality “
“She is fine about it “Bette replied
“We needed to see it for ourselves. I was not displeased that Tina’s marriage ended – you know our feelings about him. He’s a low life piece of dirt and I will never forgive him for how he hurt her “

Happy for Bette & Tina showing their love for one another, no matter what is going on. Glad they could steal away for a little bit, they needed and deserved it. I’m thinking even Becky might catch on, and if she catches on, I bet she and Dan will have a chat. Being a boy he might not believe, but it’ll creep up on him, sort of like NC-17s creep up on you. Now Ally, why don’t you send Peggy over to my house? I can be charming and could stand some gifts (although that new cell phone I was telling you about has a camera, so I hope she’d give me something else.)
