Bette lifted him up and she took him into a quiet corner where she could tell him all about the features that the Lego fire station held. She looked across – Shane was helping Josh with his helmet while Dana was trying to talk Madison into not putting on her skates. Helena was holding Hannah who loved her scooter, Tina was with Becky and Sarah – standing back beaming at the success of her gifts was Peggy Peabody.

An hour later the BBQ was in full swing – Alice and Lara had arrived as had Ollie and Paul. Bette came out of the house with more pre-cooked chicken legs and moved around the gathering checking that everyone had enough to eat

Happy for Bette & Tina showing their love for one another, no matter what is going on. Glad they could steal away for a little bit, they needed and deserved it. Yeehaw! Ride her, cowgirl! And when they get back to the BBQ all the adults will know exactly what they’ve been up to, even if they take the time to shower. I’m thinking even Becky might catch on, and if she catches on, I bet she and Dan will have a chat. Being a boy he might not believe, but it’ll creep up on him, sort of like NC-17s creep up on you. Now Ally, why don’t you send Peggy over to my house? I can be charming and could stand some gifts (although that new cell phone I was telling you about has a camera, so I hope she’d give me something else.)
