“Dude, you knew she’d be here didn’t you.  That’s unfair.”  Kasey felt defeated, the volume of her voice dropped significantly.  She wanted to have a good time tonight, forget about the world and just kick back and drink.  Aiden simply shrugged joining a group of his basketball buddies leaving Madison standing next to the brunette.

Both girls made their way to the fire and took a seat, letting the heat from the massive flames do its best to warm their bodies up.  “Can I get you something to drink Mads?”  Kasey broke the silence however kept her eyes on the burning logs.

“Uhm, sure please.  Beer seems to be the popular choice.”  Kasey gave her a slightly crooked grin and stood.  “Alright, I’ll be right back.”

In her absence the young Latina spotted her boyfriend laughing with a group of his friends.  She didn’t appreciate the way he ditched her to drink with his pals, however, she enjoyed the alone time with Kasey.  Continuing to scan the scene she noticed Kyla quietly taking a seat across from her, keeping her eyes downcast on the fire.  It was obvious that the girl hadn’t seen Kasey just yet.

“Here you go.”  The short haired brunette returned handing her a plastic cup filled to the brim with beer.  “Thanks.”  She replied unconsciously moving closer to her.  The winter nights in LA could become terribly cold in the evening.  Kasey however rarely noticed the change.  Having lived in Canada and adapted to their weather, she loved the chilly nights.

Madison shivered as the liquid in her small cup created tiny waves in response.  She wasn’t sure why she hadn’t worn heavier clothing but she was sure sorry she hadn’t.  The fire was obviously of no help; her tanned skin was now covered with goosebumps.  Kasey finally took notice of the trembling body and set her cup on the grass.

“What are you doing?”  Madison asked as Kasey slipped her oversized sweatshirt up and over her head.

“You’re cold, wear this.  I’m used to this weather.”  She handed the girl the shirt which the Latina gladly accepted.  Kasey was now left in her black ACDC t-shirt.  “Thank you.”  THe short haired brunette smiled and shrugged.  "What are friends for?"
