    A sequel to “A new start”. “….all you could hear were the shots that sliced the air and screams.”

    Ashton just nodded her head and I continued, “When we got to the bathroom it was thankfully empty. She locked the door, leaned against it and asked, “What the hell was that, Spence?” To tell you the truth I didn’t know what the hell to say to her. I mean I had no reason to do what I did. Well in my mind I had a perfectly good reason but your Mom didn’t know what it was and I just couldn’t make my mouth work. So I did the first thing that came into my jumbled mind. I walked up to her, cupped her faces with both of my hands and kissed the hell out of her. I mean I put everything I had been feeling since I saw her dancing with the other girl. I poured all my feelings into that kiss, passion, love, my frustration of not knowing what was going on with me, my jealousy. Everything. At first she didn’t respond because I had surprised her but that didn’t last long. She kissed me back just as fiercely as I was kissing her and she wrapped her arms around me pulling me as close to her as she could.” I said but I stopped talking again. I was remembering that first kiss again. Wow. It still makes my toes curl.

    “Mama, you’re drooling again,” Ashton laughs as she snapped back to the present

    “Umm, sorry baby,” I said blushing as I continued. “When we finally came up for air all she could say and all I could do was grin like an idiot. I leaned back in to kiss her again but before I actually did I growled, “Mine”, she grinned and then I kissed her again. We only broke a part because someone was banging on the door. We just grinned at each other, walked out of the bathroom, ditched our friends and went over to her house. We had a long talk that night.”

    “What did you guys talk about?” Ashton asked

    “We talked about us, I guess. That night I figured out I couldn’t just be your Mom’s best friend anymore. I had to be more. Lucky me, your Mom felt something for me too but never pursued it because she thought I was totally in to guys. So I explained what I had been feeling basically since I first saw her and we worked things out.” I said
