“Ashey, you know I don’t go to those anymore. I hate them.” Ashley said frowning

“Please, Mom. Just this once. I really want to go see the live performances and meet some of the artists.” Ashton pouted

“If you want to meet someone then just tell me who it is and I’ll arrange it.” Ashley said

“That’s not the point, Mom. I want to go to show. It’ll be fun. Please.” Ashton begged

“I really hate those things,” Ashley muttered

“Pretty, pretty please,” Ashton said as she stuck out her bottom lip in a pout

“Come on, Ash. It might be fun.” Spencer smiled

Ashley just looked between the pouting Ashton and her wife. She knew she was going to have to cave. There was no way she’d be able to take both of them on. She sighed and said, “Alright, you win. How many passes should I get?’

Ashton squealed in happiness, went over to Ashley, kissed her on the cheek and said, “Just us. Maggie is going to be out of town then.”

Ashley can’t help but smile at her daughter. She just nods her head and watches her daughter happily skip out of her office. She then turned to her wife and said, “I can’t believe she still has me wrapped around her little finger.”

Spencer chuckled and said, “Who are you kidding? We all have you wrapped around our little fingers.”

Ashley just frowned, stuck out her tongue at her wife and continued writing in their journal.

The night of the Grammy’s finally arrived. All three kids were beyond excited. While Ashley and Spencer took everything in stride. Spencer had taken both girls out shopping for their gowns earlier in the week and both girls were thrilled with their choices. Ashton was wearing a short, white, halter top dress and Alexis was wearing a simple low cut dark green gown. They both looked gorgeous. But their mothers weren’t going to be outdone. Spencer was wearing a beautiful blue silk gone that matched her eyes while Ashley was wearing a simple, silk, back less dress. They all looked spectacular.

Surprisingly all the girls were ready in the living room and they were waiting on A.J. to so that they could leave.

“A.J. hurry up!! We’re going to be late!!” Ashton called out impatiently

A.J. walked into the living room frowning and tugging at his collar with his bow tie hanging on his neck. He whined to Spencer, “Mama, can you tie my bow tie for me. I can’t do it.”

Spencer just chuckled and did what was asked. When she was done she leaned up and kissed her son on the cheek and said, “There you go, handsome.”

A.J. blushed but grinned like an idiot.

Ashton just rolled her eyes smiling and said, “Let’s go already.”

“Alright, alright let’s go” Ashley as she started walking out of the house.

Forty five minutes later their hummer limo finally pulled up to the red carpet of the Grammy’s. They all piled out of the limo and were immediately blinded by the flashes of the camera and people screaming their names. Although, Spencer and Ashley had always tried to keep their kids out of the lime light but that wasn’t always possible. The stupid paparazzi loved taking pictures of them and coming up with stupid stories.

Ashley and Spencer were talking to a reporter from Entertainment Tonight while the kids were further down the red carpet posing for pictures. That’s when all hell broke loose.

“GUN!!!” James screamed as he pulled out his gun and started firing

“DOWN!!” Helen screamed as she did the same as her husband

After that all you could hear were the shots that sliced the air and screams. When everything was done, mass hysteria took over, Spencer and Ashley both laid on the ground in a pool of blood.

All three kids ran to their parents after the bodyguards let them up from the floor. All three kneeled around their parents and through Ashton’s tears she asked, “Mom?”

Ashley barely opened her eyes and whispered very softly, “Baby….
