The door was shut but not locked, I knocked softly then opened it.

‘I’m not in the mood Spence, I’ll talk to you later, not tonight I’m not in the fucking mood,’ Maggie growled from where she was laid on the bed looking tiny.

‘It’s me,’ I knew my voice would give me away so didn’t bother explaining any more.

Maggie uncurled from her position in the middle of the bed and sat up on the bed cross legged, head bowed. She looked a wreck and I walked to the foot of the bed and crawled on to it until I was sitting opposite her, I reached out and gently lifted her chin with my finger.

‘Fuck Mags, what the hell is wrong with you?’ She looked like fucking crap and I was ready to beat the living shit out of someone for making her feel like this. You know I protect my own and Maggie was still very close to me.

‘It’s nothing babe, just stuff,’ she tried to shrug it off but dating Addison taught me patience, and not just in the bedroom ya dirty minded bitches! My girl was pretty closed off even now and although I knew she loved me it had been a long job getting inside her walls, even though she wanted to let me in, just didn’t know how. We were good for each other like that, just as Maggie had really helped me when I first moved to L.A, there had been lot to deal with and Maggie had grounded me and kept me fairly sane. I wanted to help her now if I could.

‘Don’t bullshit me Maggie,’ I sighed and brushed the hair out of her face then stretched across the bed to the night stand for the box of tissues.

‘Thanks,’ my friend sniffled as I wiped her eyes then passed her another tissue and let her take care of her nose. Hmmm, ‘Don’t start on at me with your tissue theory either,’ she grumbled and I grinned and laughed.

When I was a kid I had always wondered why you needed tissues in the bedroom, surely your nose was never that snotty? Maybe it was? Then I discovered sex and I still tell Addy we should stick a label on them and be honest. ‘Cum tissues’ would be accurate don’t you think huh? Not that I like to waste any, cum that is, but sometimes ya just need a tissue.
