A Leap Of Faith (Chapter 3)

    Chapter 3:

    Previously…

Dana: (her voice rising in anger) How well everything is going? You obviously haven’t been listening to a word I’ve been saying, but if that’s your attitude then fuck you Al, initially I came to ask you if you wanted to come over to mine tonight and we could have dinner, but forget it, I’ll leave you to it seeing as ‘your work’ is obviously so important to you…

With that Dana stood up and stormed out, not really sure what had caused that particular argument, or in fact what it was they were even arguing about.

Alice just sat, staring at the blank screen of her laptop. ‘Great Al,’ the writer berated herself. ‘Just great, pick an argument with her, that’ll stop her from realising how you really feel, that was real classy…’

    Later that night:

Alice stands nervously on Dana’s doorstep, a bottle of wine in her hands as a weak peace offering in excuse for her behaviour earlier.

When Dana comes to the door, she’s surprised to see Alice standing there…

Alice: About the dinner invitation… I guess I’m too late but…any leftovers?

Dana: (sighing and smiling) oh I don’t know Al, but there might still be some humble pie…

Alice: (sarcastically) So don’t make this easy for me Dane, I brought this as a peace offering; don’t make me throw it at your head…

Dana just laughed and stood to the side, indicating for Alice to come in. The athlete wasn’t sure if they needed to talk about their argument, so she decided to stay off-topic and discuss a mutual interest instead.

    Dana: So how’s Tina doing?

Alice: Oh she’s ok, Shane is hanging out with her tonight so I thought I might just come and…

Dana: Scrounge off your best friend for dinner?

Alice: Hey I could just leave if that’s what you wanted, but I thought I would be considerate and come and give your lame ass some company while your girlfriend… sorry fiancée… is off gallivanting doing god knows what with god knows who!

Dana: (mock shock expression) For your information, Tonya is away trying to land a massive sponsorship deal for me, in fact, right now she is probably in talks with the representatives from Nike…

    4. Wow, so many Danish stories at the moment, it’s hard to keep track. :) I always love stories which start right after the 4 AM-kiss. So, keep it up! Btw, is your name from the song from Billie Meyers (love that song).
