    Window of Opportunity ch. 51

“We are. We talked this morning and we’re giving it 6 months and then we’re going to start talking about a wedding. We’ll see. I believe that we’re stronger than we were last time because we’re both putting in 100% effort. That’s not to say we weren’t in the past but we know what we have to lose and neither of us is willing to lose it again.”

“I’m so happy for you both. I wasn’t sure if you would find your way back to one another but I hoped for your sake and Angie’s. She is an incredible kid who deserves to have both of you around to love her.”

“Yeah she is. I hope that we would have been trying again even without her but she makes it all more worthwhile.”

“Anything from the ‘rents about Tina’s other family?”

“No, I think that they enjoyed themselves. They were thanking us up and down this morning and are meeting Tina at the studio later for a tour. They’ve taken their heads out of their asses and are trying. I can’t ask for anymore than that and I think that’s all Tina ever wanted.”

    “Cool.”

We continued visiting for a while until I looked at the time and realized that I had upcoming meetings that I needed to leave for. Shane and I made plans for lunch later in the week and I headed off.

    Tina

My parents coming out to visit was wonderful. We spent some quality time getting to know one another and they were really trying to make up for the past. They were inclusive of Bette in everything and she and Daddy spent time together getting all the necessary information for the fence pool. When ordered, it was available locally and Daddy supervised the installation. Bette loved it and I felt so much more relieved that Angie would be safe.

Mom and I spent time in the yard doing gardening. As Angie and I now do, Mom and I used to do it together when I was growing up. It was always our time together and some of our best conversations happened during gardening. It was the same. She opened up to me about her relationship with Luke and the feeling of betrayal when she found out he was gay. She thought it was a reflection of her and her self esteem which was already low plummeted. It took years to realize it was him and not her but by that time, the lies had already been put in motion and she didn’t know how to undue them. I cried with her as she relived that painful time in her life.

    7. Fantastic chapter and so happy to see this post, I loved every word of it.You are doing such a wonderful job writing this story and everything is going so well. A new baby, a wedding, and adding on to the house all at the same time. But they have talked about it and will continue to do so it should be alright for them. Those kinds of things just tend to be a tad bit stressful.
