    Window of Opportunity ch. 45

When she first started to scrutinize the room, I knew immediately what her thoughts were and I shot them down immediately. It wasn’t as if I hadn’t had those same thoughts myself but the world of academia is much more conservative than my previous life and I didn’t need anything to get me into hot water. I was quite capable of that on my own. I knew she hadn’t put the thought away even after we discussed it because her eyes still had a gleam in them.

We sat down to have lunch from one of our favorite delis and she told me about her day. To say I was less than thrilled to hear that Shana was back would be an understatement but I didn’t convey those thoughts to Tina. I totally trusted her and all but was concerned about Shana’s relentless pursuit. Tina was sure that she could handle anything if presented and I believed that to be true. She assured me if Shana did anything, she would go to Aaron about it and it seems as if based on the past, Aaron is taking this situation seriously.

We discussed Angie and made arrangements to meet at the house so we would only take one car to dinner. I walked her to the door and we kissed. I wish I was not so adamant about any sex in the office because at that moment, I would have loved nothing more. Her telling me how wet she was as she walked out, surely did nothing to help me focus on the tasks at hand.

I was finally able to leave after not getting a lot accomplished and stopped at the liqueur store on my way home. Tina was picking Angie up and I needed to get a bottle of Scotch for James as way of saying thanks. I picked out a bottle I knew he would enjoy and also, saw the Portuguese wine that Tina and I are so fond of. I grabbed a couple of bottles of those and headed home. Tina and Angie were already there. I set the bags down and walked into the bedroom to find Angie jumping on the bed while Tina was putting some things into her drawers. She stopped when she noticed me.

    1. What an amazing chapter! So many beautiful moments…And so many remarkable spots to speak of…But I’ll restrain myself…My favorite line, I think, was: “I want to know what she’s feeling and what she’s thinking.” To me, that’s a picture of love…wanting to embrace the all of it. Forgiveness is a truly marvelous thing. Not sure I’m making any sense…but…Wonderfully deep storytelling. Thanks, nagster :)

    2. What a wonderful chapter Newage. Having them loving one another so deeply after everything they’ve been through is truly wonderful. Now let’s see what the parents will do, although I think they have learned their lesson and will not be able to find enough ways to be nice and sweet to everyone and besides Angie will talk their heads off after she gets used to them, about a day probably. PPS

    3. Everything you wrote was so beautiful. The whole chapter was awesome. Love Angie Pink hat. Shane was so funny, saying that Angie was just like Alice. Motor mouth. thanks so much for posting

    4. So much is left to our interpretation on the show between B&T. Your writing gives us the reunion story that should have been told! Great chapter!

    5. What a very Wonderful story ! Love the line: ” She was a woman possessed and since I kept up with her, I must have been too …” LOL makes me giggle!

    6. Yes!!! Glad Bette managed to mumble that word out after recovering from her state of shock. It’s the only apt respone to Tina’s heartfelt proposal. Sooo happy for these two. Loved the gleam in Tina’s eyes when she looked around Dean Porter’s office. I have a feeling they’ll eventually do the deed there; it’s only a matter of time. *wink* If they can make it at the backseat of a cab, they can certainly make it anywhere! Loved the adorable motormouth Angie who must have gotten that trait from Alice through osmosis. Is this the calm before the probable awkward, stormy visit of Tina’s folks? Let’s see how that reunion will play out. Btw, I hope you’re not done with the envelopes yet. There’s so much more about their storied past that I want to find out like when did they decide to live together? What and where was their first love nest? How and when did they decide to have a family? What about their commitment ceremony? Just throwing some ideas. :> Thanks for a truly enjoyable chapter, newagegirl! PPS :>
