Where You Go There You Are

“Sort of plus I’m good at it.” Shane responds honestly.  “Do you have a lot of experiences with shelters?”

Angie smiles at Shane’s question.  Realizing she’s going to open up sometime she gives in some.  “No not really your’s is the first I’ve ever been in.”

The confession makes Shane feel better about Angie’s life.  “Well that’s good.  So you do have a home somewhere.”  Shane’s relief coming through with her remarks.

Now it’s Angie’s turn to laugh a little.  “Yeah I do.  I just don’t want to be there right now.” Angie states firmly trying to end this line of questions.  They were making her uncomfortable.  These questions went hand in hand with her thoughts before Shane sat down.  She didn’t want to be thinking of home right now.  Staring at the ramps she notices Frankie positioning her board with her toe, setting up to push off.

Shane recognizes Angelica’s uneasiness and remains silent.  Getting Angelica to open up will take time.  They both watch Frankie push off, going down the ramp building speed.  Frankie starts moving up the other side, sailing way over the top of the ridge.  At the apex of her height she twists her body in a full 360 turn with a twist, completing the move before sailing up and over.  Finding her board magically beneath her feet she completes the landing safely ending up back on her board just as it continues on its line down the ramp.  Not happy with that move alone, Frankie now touches the ramp deck on the bottom with her toe, pushing off for more speed.  Moving up the other side she uses her toe to flip her board causing it to spin beneath her at the peak.  Gathering it in, she continues down again and up the other side.  Stopping at the top she turns to Angelica and smiles.

Shaking her head in amazement, Shane is impressed.  “Fuckin A she’s good.”  She says with wonder in her voice.  Getting up Shane nods towards Frankie, “ I’ve got to go now but I let Frankie know tonight’s pizza night at my house.  It’s just a casual get together.  I asked Bette and a few others to come over.  We usually end up playing poker or swimming in Bette’s pool.  You’re welcome to come if you want.”

    1. Glad that Bette is so calm about this and is not over reacting. Hopefully Alice will not do something that will spook Angelica and make her run away again. Alice is usuallt a time bomb waiting for a place to go off and this would be the wrong time for that to happen. Hopefully Alice will give Bette the number so Tina’s mind will be at rest. Great chapter. PPS

    2. It’s quite the sticky situation all around. Everybody is going to be careful how they handle Angelica and at the same time seem forced or she’ll think something’s up. Bette and Tina will have to be diplomatic with each other, too, once they get in contact.

    3. A mature Bette who would have thought it – only you and certainly not IC. Thank you for returning with this story and for giving us a Bette to admire without cringing.

    4. In 17 yrs Bette has become so calm and much more mature. Tina will love this new Bette. She is easy going and I love how she handle Alice. This is not Bettes fault,I wonder if Angie will be angry with Tina for keeping her away from Bette all these yrs. Angie has missed so much for not knowing Bette. thanks

    5. Well look who the cat dragged in! So good to see a post in your name mate! Ain’t it funny how easy it is to get back into a story and remember everything from a year ago! Looking forward to the meeting of B&T, please don’t say its going to be at least another 65 chapters till that happens! x

    6. Hey JWet, Just love the mature and protective side of Bette’s persona. Everything she has been through with her illness has made her appreciate life and all its multiple facets. Bette realizes Tina’s angst and distress at her daughter’s disappearance and is know doing all htat she can to save Tina more hurt. There is stil such a connection between Bette and Tina that they protect each other even after all this time has pasted. Theirs truly is a love forged in heaven. Shane was great with Angelica, gently teaing out the truth without pushing too far. Then Alice. Oh what levity and brightness she beings to this tale. Her concern for Bette’s health was so sweet and honest. The tale has completely hooked and bedazzled me. Thank you so much dear friend. Life is a wonderful journey. Your Loyal Fan and Friend. Take care.

    7. So glad Bette is trying to think clearly and think about what Tina is going through not knowing where Angie is. Their will be time later for the rest. Alice cracks me up, thinking Bette was dying.
