#TLW10– But we can take it slow…
The brunette saw fear in those hazel eyes and then just a blink of an eye the power went out.
“Oh my god Bette!”
The caramel skinned beauty went over to the blonde and embraced her “It’s okay Tee I’m here”
“What are we gonna do Bette?”
“Let’s go get Angie and bring her to the living room”
Good thing Bette was holding a flashlight at that time since she was planning of going down to the basement. The brunette quickly went to the kitchen, took a box of candles and brought it to the living room.
While the blonde held their daughter the dark eyed beauty pushed the couch and ottomans to the side and laid the mattress down. She spread two comforters on the mattress and she surrounded the sides with pillows. She asked Tina to wear two pieces of sweatshirts to keep her body warm as well as the little girl
“Tina you can put Angie now in the middle and you can take whichever side you want. I’ll just go to the basement”
“What are you going to do in the basement?” the blonde asked worriedly
“We need heat in this room”
“So?”
“Just please stay here, I’ll be back”
“Bette, please hurry okay?”
“Okay”
Before the brunette left Tina gently grabbed her on the arm and hugged her “I’m scared Bette”
The brunette wrapped her arms around the blonde “Don’t be, I’m here remember? I’m here for you and boo…”
The blonde looked at the brunette in the eyes and despite the dimly lit surroundings she could see love in the most beautiful pair of brown eyes that she had ever seen
Bette kissed her tenderly on the forehead “Just look after our daughter and I’ll be back”
“Alright” Tina lay down in the mattress and protectively draped her arm around her daughter’s body.
Bette went to the basement and uttered a short prayer when she saw her old non electric portable space heater. It was a gift that Alice gave to her a few years ago on her birthday. It was meant to be a joke since Los Angeles rarely get snow but she thought she could use it someday and so she decided to keep it rather than giving it away. She never thought that a day would actually arrive that she would have a use for it. Bette then went to the cabinet and took two bottles of disposable propane tanks.
