#TLW10– But we can take it slow…

    “Are you really happy?”

The strong wind outside was blowing so hard yet the air inside became filled with silence

Bette wasn’t sure how to answer that question “Not yet but I’m getting there”

    Silence

Now it was Bette’s turn to ask “How about you Tina, are you happy?”

    “No”

    “Why?”

“Because I’m not with you and you’re not mine”

Bette sat up and hugged her knees avoiding the blonde’s intense gaze; she didn’t expect to hear those words from the blonde, not after everything that they had gone thru “Tina, please stop this nonsense”

“Really Bette do you think what I’m saying is nonsense? Do you think pouring my heart out now is nonsense?” the blonde said her voice laced with hurt

“Do you think it’ll be easy for me to believe everything that you just said now after all the pain and hurt that you gave me?”

Tina stood up and went over to Bette’s side and sat beside her “I know it’s not easy baby. I’ve hurt you and you hurt me… we hurt each other. But I know in the deepest corner of my heart that we belong together and we deserve another chance”

    “I don’t know Tina…”

Tina placed her hands on Bette’s shoulder and the side of the brunette’s head “Please look at me… look at me”

“Tell me you don’t love me anymore and I won’t ever bother you again with all of my nonsense” the blonde whispered

Bette raised her head and looked at the blonde straight in her eyes, those eyes that would forever mesmerize her “How can you possibly ask me that question, it’s like asking me if I don’t want to breathe anymore…”

Tina felt hot tears pouring from her eyes upon hearing those words from the only person who captured her heart and soul

“You are the love of my life and I will never ever love any other woman as much as I loved you”

    “Oh Bette baby…”

“But things are different now, we are not the same people anymore, we changed”

“Yes we are different now but our love never changed…”

    “How about Henry?”

“We fought because he knew that he could never replace you in my heart… nobody can”

    “You two broke up?”

    “I think it’s a long time coming”

Although the brunette was happy at what she heard she wasn’t sure that jumping into a relationship with Tina was a wise thing to do especially now that she was starting to get her life back again. Maybe it was just because they were alone and in the same room, maybe because of the snowstorm, or maybe because they were both vulnerable. But who was she kidding? Deep inside of her she hoped she and Tina would get back together

    “I’m not ready Tina…”

The blonde shifted on her seat and sat on the mattress with her legs bent and was now hugging her knees as her side brushed the brunette’s side “I know me too, but I’m scared that if we won’t try again the love that we have for each other will fade away” she whispered then tears began rolling again on her cheeks

    Silence

Hearing the sadness in the blonde’s voice tugged at her heartstrings. How could she possibly deny the only woman who could take her breath away? Bette knew they had a lot of things to work on both in their relationship and on herself but she knew she could never be happy with anyone but with the beautiful blonde who was silently crying beside her

“But we can take it slow”

Tina looked up and turned at the beautiful brunette who was now smiling at her

“You can date me, bring me to a romantic comedy movie… buy me flowers…”

Tina gave the brunette a sweet smile, her eyes now twinkling with hope “And you can cook for me?”

Bette cupped the blonde’s face and gently wiped the blonde’s tears “And yes so I can cook for you…”

    “Promise?”

    “I promise…”
