The Trouble With Love Chaper Thirty Five

Bette and Kate both smiled at Tina’s response, but both could also hear the slight edge of trepidation in her voice. Kate lead them towards the car that was waiting and held the door open so that both Bette and Tina could get in. Once they were on their way Bette and Kate made small talk while Tina looked wistfully out the window, wondering where the last six weeks had gone. It had been the best and worst of times all wrapped up together.
Once their luggage had been checked in they went to get some breakfast. During the course of the meal both Kate and Bette could feel Tina getting increasing restless. There was more pushing of food around the plate than eating going on from Tina’s side of the table, and in the end Tina gave in altogether, announcing that she was going to see if there was some last minute shopping to be done.
“Are you OK? You’ve barely eaten anything.” asked Bette, looking up at Tina.
“I’m fine, I just can’t sit here and wait. I need to be doing something.”
“Do you want me to come with you?”
“No, stay here. Relax Bette, I’m OK.”
Bette watched Tina as she walked away, frowning slightly at Tina’s obvious unease and her inability to do anything about it. She was shaken out of her thoughts by Kate coming back to the table.
“Where’s Tina?”
“She went to have a look around.”
“You’re worried about her, aren’t you?” asked Kate.
“I can’t help it. She says that she’s OK and is happy about going home but everything about her says that she would rather be anywhere else but here.”
“I don’t think the waiting helps, and besides once she’s on the plane, it’s not like she can just get off is it?” chuckled Kate, trying to make light of the situation.
“I guess not.” replied Bette, appreciating what Kate was trying to do.
“Have you thought anymore about what we spoke about on Thursday? About giving Tina her ring back?”
“I was going to do it yesterday, but we got talking about the baby, and my father, and it just didn’t seem like the right time, and now we’re at the airport. I wanted to ask her to start wearing again before we went back to LA, and now it’s too late.” said Bette, regretfully.

OMG so sweet! I teared up like the sap I am. lol And I feel Bette’s pain with regards to the alarm. Many times I want to chuck my clock across the room in the mornings. =p

Great chapter – but It does beg the question will they make it without their facilitator? maybe they’ll have to fly Kate over to be their coach.

CG, That was another extraordinary moment beautifully written in Bette and Tina’s life together. There was a sense of resolution and completing the cycle as Bette slipped the ring onto Tina’s finger. Great chapter mate, I think Bette can do spontaneous, she just has to have a know that when it come down to Tina, she wants her so much that the possibility of rejection stops her being spontaneous – she’ll get to know that its the right thing to do. Confident Porter is back… Great, loved it.
