    “Soon,” Tina said. Tina gathered Bette’s dirty clothes. She started a load of whites, putting her clothes in with Bette’s. The way she’d done countless times in the past. Tina could hear Bette splashing in the pool when she entered the kitchen. She put on a pot of coffee and looked in the fridge. It

    Tina gathered Bette’s dirty clothes. She started a load of whites, putting her clothes in with Bette’s. The way she’d done countless times in the past. Tina could hear Bette splashing in the pool when she entered the kitchen. She put on a pot of coffee and looked in the fridge. It was basically empty except for the Chinese food they had last night, some grapes and the pickle bouquet. Bette had eaten almost half of it. Tina shook her head and smiled. She decided to have Shane pick up something from The Planet.

    Tina: U up?

    Shane: Haven’t been to sleep yet. lol

    Tina: I won’t ask.

    Shane: Sup?

    Tina: I’m about to go for a run. Would you stop by The Planet and pick up some pastries? Kit will have it bagged up.

    Shane: Sure. Now?

    Tina: Can you meet me outside of our gate in about 30 minutes?

    Shane: So, now.

    Tina: Yes, please.

    Shane: You got it. Have a good run.

    Tina: Thanks, Shane

    Tina loved their friends. She especially loved the way Shane took care of Bette while she was gone.

    While I was gone , Tina thought.

    “I’m back now,” Tina said out loud.

    Tina: Good Morning

    Kit: Heyyy

    Tina: Is it ok if Shane stops by to pick up some goodies for breakfast.

    Kit: You know it is. 

    Tina: Thanks, Kit. Love u.

    Tina watched Bette swim a couple of laps from the patio door. She needed to run. Now.

    Tina was halfway to the gate when she ran back into the house.

    “Alexa, play Playlist #4.”

    “Playing Playlist #4.”

    Tina bit her lip. She put a towel on one of the loungers. She looked back and smiled as Bette’s strong arms stroked in and out of the water before exiting through the gate. Tina leaned on the outside of the gate, exhaled and started running her familiar route. She didn’t have a lot of time before she had to go to the studio to meet with the Partners.

    Tina ran hard for 30 minutes. Visions of Bette swirled in her head. Remembering how Bette grabbed her and hugged her the night before made her run faster. Finding Bette standing over her this morning, made her run even faster. Tina was in a full sprint when she stopped abruptly in front of their gate. She was gasping for air when Shane pulled up. Tina placed her hands on top of her head. She breathed in through her nose and out through her mouth to slow her heart rate down.

    1. What a great chapter and I’m glad that the fact Jennifer was in Texas inspired you to update your story.

      Slow steps but I’m sure that Bette will find the trust that Tina is not going to leave her.

    2. Thanks for the update. I could feel the panic in Bette when she saw the suitcase. Very understandable. And it’s good that Tina realized that Bette needed the truth and some reassurance that the situation was nothing to be scared about. But triggers like this will happen from time to time…

      I really want Bette to begin to trust Tina again. But these things take time. So take the time Bette. Take the time to get to know Tina again. And I mean to really know her. And for god’s sake trust yourself. Trust what you see in Tina and her responses. No one cooks you a dinner when they are about to walk out the door.

      • Yes! It’s definitely about trust. Tina needs to be patient and Bette needs to open up to Tina. It is going to be a journey. Therapy is going to brutal! Thanks so much for reading.

    3. OMG! The tension is so powerful! I know it will take some time for Bette to trust Tina again but must it be be so painful? Please don’t charge Tina! It was so good to see the pictures of them together so I feel their inspiration in your story. Keep the flow coming. They will make it back and it’s going to be epic. Epic I tell you!
