“Thanks Sam… for everything.”
“You’re welcome” Sam handed Tina the box and opened the door, leaving no room for hugs or kisses, they smiled their goodbyes and Tina walked out.
9:50pm. Day 17. Tina’s Motel. San Francisco.
Bette was reading Tina’s text for the hundredth time when she heard a car turn into the entrance of the motel. She looked up and watched Tina park and struggle to unload a large box from the trunk. Bette felt the anger, fear and jealousy swirl inside her, tempered by the love she felt for the blonde that was coming her way.
Tina glanced up as she neared the door to her room and saw a figure huddled on the floor, she would recognise that curly brown hair anywhere. Her heart leapt in joy then fell in panic. How long had Bette been here for?
Bette watched Tina’s face react to her presence, inwardly smiling at the clear joy on her girlfriend’s face as she recognised her, joining her in the downward spiral of emotions that followed.
Tina continued her journey, slowing down as she reached her destination.
“Hey” Tina began tentatively, she placed the box on the ground and leaned against it, facing the brunette, trying to read the expression on Bette’s face.
“Hi”
“Baby… I’m sorry, I really am sorry you found out that way… but you have to believe me that it was just an innocent dinner. She’d packed a bunch of my stuff and I said I’d pick it up and she asked if I’d like to stay for dinner…” Tina gestured at the box as she spoke.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
“We only set it up this afternoon. If I had known when I spoke to you this morning I would have told you. I wasn’t trying to hide anything Bette…”
Tina looked into Bette’s eyes, trying to see what impact her words were having.
“I’ve never been jealous before” Bette attempted to laugh. Tina smiled at the brunette’s attempt to lighten the mood. But she didn’t want to move on until they were done.
“Bette? I need you to trust me.”
“I know. And I do, I just wasn’t prepared to feel the way I did. Rationally, I know it wasn’t a big deal. But in my head, all this crazy stuff was going on, I couldn’t think straight, I couldn’t handle it, you having dinner with your ex… it just…”

I am so happy that this story has returned! Bette definitely needs to find a way to support Tina through this lonely transitional period. It seems as though this was definitely a good start! I hope we learn about what happens during the next four days – so much time to explore one another’s likes and dislikes in detail. PPS!
I am glad that Bette didn’t take off and that she is recognizing what she is feeling. Tina and Bette sharing their issues and wanting to work on things is AWESOME! A little makeup and I miss you sex, WHOO-EE! I hope that the girls find a way to spend some time together over the next few weeks.

Glad that Bette and Tina were able to discuss the issue of having dinner with Sam. It is pretty nice when the woman you love is still waiting for you even after a blunder.

You wrote about the awkwardness between Sam and Tina and the swirling emotions in both Bette and Tina and their internal dialogue and questions quite well. Hope Bette can stay longer in SFO because I’m really curious if they’ll make it as a couple beyond the sheets. Thanks for this update, tibetteporter! Hope you aced your exams. :>

I’m so glad Bette didn’t rush back to LA and that Tina cut the evening short and came home to find her. I think Bette should talk to her assistant and find a way to be there for Tee so she won’t be lonely and she’ll be able to get all her work done faster. Then back to LA to start a new life. PPS
