While Bette and I were just getting out of the Jeep at the harbor parking lot, Bette got a call from Patsy who asked if they could tie up with us tonight. Bette begged off saying we had plans but told her to hold on for a minute. She knew we were driving the Hana Loop tomorrow and asked if it would be okay to invite them.
I agreed as long as they took their own wheels because we would be carting camera equipment and personal items in the back seat.
Come to find out, they had a Jeep too so they could not only follow us to Hana, but continue beyond it as well, which is what we wanted to do even though it was rugged country with nothing but dirt roads.
Bette relayed the details and they agreed to go.
Meanwhile, we grabbed our tote bags and boarded the catamaran with about 30 other people.
We were told immediately that Molokini was a protected marine sanctuary and we could not set foot on it. It was a place to see but not touch.
Bette and I headed for the sun deck on top. It was a beautiful, pristine craft and once we got going we just skimmed over the waves and felt the salt water spray while a school of dolphins dove in and out of the water along side us. In 45 minutes we were there and headed for mid-reef. The trouble was, we were not alone. There were dozens of other boats on a quest exactly like ours but what the heck, it was a very festive scene with a lot of happy people.
We were given snorkeling equipment with instructions on how to use it while they played Jimmy Buffet music and served ice cold drinks from an on-board bar.
Bette and I did not hesitate to get into the water. Some dove off the bottom deck, some slid down a water slide, but most, including us just walked down one of twin steps that dropped into warm, crystal clear water.
We swam out a bit and used our gear. There was a plethora of amazing sea-life below us with a visibility of maybe 25 feet or more. It was incredibly clear. Bette had brought an under water camera and had the best time snapping photo after photo. We both saw an eel slithering through the water and while I thought it was a damn snake, she knew better.

Wooo Bette needs to feel close to S..woo. It’s finally starting I can’t wait.
September, Remember Bette said that something would “trigger” off a response if it was still in her. Well, look’s like the singer and his song got her motivated. Yikes! I can hardly wait to read your responses when the deed happens. Even the writer is excited!
Sissee, we are getting more and more ready to wait for Bette making the first move to S. The familiar song, the atmosphere throughout their trip together, all led us to think they are ready to be in each other’s arms. As quote from kb, “Can wait fot the next chapter”.
Okay I have to confes something….I saw there where about 7 or 8 views to go before number 300 ….so mmm *blush* I kinda viewed 7 or 8 times…I’m viewer number 300 woohooo so are you going to update now ;P
Azmama, Sorry, but what we have to remember here is that only TWO days have gone by. They arrived in Maui on a Wednesday and it is now only Friday. Yes, they have done a lot of things but even I have to admit to this big build up and I hope you will think the next TWO chapters were worth the wait.
