The Adventures Of Bette Porter And Sissee Gardner Schmidt After Tina (Part 2, Chapter7)
PART TWO: MAUI
Chapter 7
We were headed to South Maui in the Jeep at a pretty good clip, our hair whipping in the wind.
We had a compact disc of Mariah Carey’s in and she was singing loud and clear as we went speeding along the highway. We were both surprised at each other that we knew some of the words or faked what we did not know and wound up laughing. It was fun as we drove by fields of sugar cane as well as a pretty stinky sugar mill which got screeches out of both of us because the smell was so bad.
Then Mariah‘s “Your Girl” cut began and we suddenly got quiet, as she sang, “I should be your girl….” I could not help but relate, especially when the chorus came on…..
“I’m gonna make you want to
Get with me tonight.
I’m gonna put those naughty
Thoughts into your mind.
I’m gonna show you clearly
I can rock your world
You’re gonna know for sure
That I should be your girl.”
When the song was over, I sang one of the seductive lines, “I just gotta have your love and enough’s, enough’s, enough’s.”
Bette got kind of cocky, shaking her head back and forth with a neon smile on her lips, looking straight ahead at the highway. It pleased me to see that cockiness again. It had been missing for a long time. Then she gave me one of her personalized knee taps which I actually took as a positive gesture.
We were dressed pretty much alike with our swim suits underneath cover-ups, according to our snorkeling plans. We were on the road to Maalaea Bay and Harbor where we would board a jet propelled catamaran that would take us to Molokini.
I read about Molokini earlier that morning and was really curious to see it. It was about 3 miles off Maui’s south coast. As I understood it, it was the top of a volcano, with just a mossy crescent of land showing above the water, acting as a fortress of sorts that provided protection from waves and powerful currents on the inside rim of it. For that reason it was one of the top ten dive and snorkeling sites in the world. Unique as hell.

September, Remember Bette said that something would “trigger” off a response if it was still in her. Well, look’s like the singer and his song got her motivated. Yikes! I can hardly wait to read your responses when the deed happens. Even the writer is excited!
Sissee, we are getting more and more ready to wait for Bette making the first move to S. The familiar song, the atmosphere throughout their trip together, all led us to think they are ready to be in each other’s arms. As quote from kb, “Can wait fot the next chapter”.
Okay I have to confes something….I saw there where about 7 or 8 views to go before number 300 ….so mmm *blush* I kinda viewed 7 or 8 times…I’m viewer number 300 woohooo so are you going to update now ;P
Azmama, Sorry, but what we have to remember here is that only TWO days have gone by. They arrived in Maui on a Wednesday and it is now only Friday. Yes, they have done a lot of things but even I have to admit to this big build up and I hope you will think the next TWO chapters were worth the wait.
No! Don’t stop there. :-) More, quickly, Siss.
Can’t wait for the next chapter! Sissee & I have waited long enough.
