Michelangelo beamed his signature smile and turned to go. “No hurry, I’ll go change her first.”
“Thanks, Angelo. But it’s your mama B’s turn. She’ll be over in a sec.” Tina kneaded Bette’s shoulder in attempt to get her up.
The brunette continued to fake sleeping.
“Oh it’s ok, I got extra minutes.” The boy started to stroll down the hallway. “And I saw you blink, mom!” The last sentence was directed to his other mother.
Once the boy left, Bette plopped herself up. She was a little embarrassed to have been seen right through. “Oh my god I loooove him!” She had to admit that Michelangelo sometimes was the adult in their family. “He’s definitely a better thirteen year old than I ever was…”
“Tell me about it.” Tina rolled off bed and changed out of her pajamas. “Come on, birthday girl, you’re gonna be late for work.”
“Maybe I can take a day off, you know, since it’s my birthday and all.” Bette reluctantly climbed out, and splashed water on her sleepy face. “You can stay home too, coz I recall the gallery isn’t having a show soon.”
“Noooope, I have a delivery to pick up at the gallery. And you promised to give the boy a lift to the library after school. Now get ready. I don’t even know why he insists on going to the library to paint.” She brushed and washed, and left the pouting brunette to do her morning routine.
Of course the brunette knew the reason. Jillian, her son’s little bookworm girlfriend. Michelangelo didn’t want her mother to worry about his school work since he was spending a lot of time with the girl. But he had always viewed his brunette mother as a romantic consultant. He treasured her advices and he promised to not let too much drama interfere with his study. Tina always knew there was some kind of secret club between the boy and her wife, but she trusted Bette to it.
When Bette came out of the bathroom, her son was ready to leave for school. “Hi, kid.” She walked over to give him a kiss on the cheek.
He was as tall as she already. And the rate of his growth seemed not to halt at any time soon. In a year or two, she’d have to look up to him. “Happy birthday, ma.” He said mildly, and returned a kiss on Bette’s face.

I don’t know. It’s such a relief for me to actually finish a story. And it’s sad for me too.
This story, although originally a little side-away, a break from the other one, now holds a very special place in my experience on this fanfic site.
My readers, your passion and your appreciation fueled my strength all the way to make this happen. I sincerely thank you for that.
Tomorrow my journey to build a life abroad starts. I’m sorry if there’ll be less frequent posts on my other story “The Lucky One”, but I’ll try my best to continue writing.

well that was just perfect, and I see you granted my wish by adding little Angelica at the end, and they lived happy ever after, now it’s 100% perfect. Im so sad to see this is the end, but as they say “all good things must come to end”.
