Bette’s eyelids started to fluster under the dim light of their night lamp. Her muscles were completely relaxed. And now she couldn’t fight the sleepiness dragging at her mind. So instead of getting a shower, she just scooted closer to her wife no matter how hot they both felt.
Tina chuckled as the brunette tuck her limbs around her waist in a childish manner. She found their pajamas piled up in the corner of the bed, and she threw them on Bette’s body.
The other woman had no intention to move whatsoever.
“What happened to making it a habit?”
Purring from the back of her throat peevishly, Bette buried her head in the crook of Tina’s neck. “We can work on it later…”
That, the blonde had no objection to.
In the middle of the night, Bette woke to the noise of the small animals outside. She blinked into the darkness of their hotel room, and listened to her wife’s rhythmic breathing inches from her ear, remembering what just happened the night before.
“We’re having a baby.” She whispered, as if convincing herself that it was not just a dream. The blonde moved in her arms in response. Bette breathed in the detergent on their sheets, and the distinct scent that held evidence of their lovemaking. Everything was real, real and perfect.
With a grin so goofy and silly, the brunette shifted gently, pulled the comforter up for both of them, and tangled her hand with Tina’s tighter. It was going to be a dreamless, peaceful night for her. And even if she were to dream, she’d only be dreaming of the happiest times that the future held.
Epilogue
The silly grin from last night was yet to be wiped off from her face. Bette sighed contently and turned her head further to the soft golden threads that carried the scent of her favorite shampoo. Sun light was gently caressing the outline of her face, but not intruding or disturbing at all.
It was a perfect morning…
Until…
A loud cry from the baby monitor on their nightstand.
“Oooooh nooooo…” She whined and struggled in her unclear state of mind.
Beside her, came the chuckle and the sweetest sound. “Happy birthday, baby.” Then followed a kiss on her jaw.

I don’t know. It’s such a relief for me to actually finish a story. And it’s sad for me too.
This story, although originally a little side-away, a break from the other one, now holds a very special place in my experience on this fanfic site.
My readers, your passion and your appreciation fueled my strength all the way to make this happen. I sincerely thank you for that.
Tomorrow my journey to build a life abroad starts. I’m sorry if there’ll be less frequent posts on my other story “The Lucky One”, but I’ll try my best to continue writing.

well that was just perfect, and I see you granted my wish by adding little Angelica at the end, and they lived happy ever after, now it’s 100% perfect. Im so sad to see this is the end, but as they say “all good things must come to end”.
