“Ah-ah-ah, don’t remind me unless you’ve got gift for me.” Bette had lost interest in her birthdays since she turned thirty. And thirty-tree, ugh, such a dreaded number. She made a face to her son and earned a coarse chuckle from him. Then she rounded the table to her daughter.
The 18 month old girl giggled to have her mother’s hand tickling her. She reached to grab a fistful of Bette’s hair, and shrieked her baby scream receiving Bette’s kisses attack.
“Hey, baby girl. Ooh that looks nice. What are you having?”
Angelica blinked her big watery eyes at her mother and printed her milk stained mouth to Bette’s cheek.
It made Tina laugh in delight.
Bette was drowning in sweet bubbles. “You’re so sweet, poockie boo. Oh yes you are. So so sweet. I want to put you in my mouth but I’m afraid you’d melt.” She kept talking in the baby voice and nuzzled her nose to smell the milky scent of the girl. “I love you, I loooove you.”
The boy rested on his elbow against the counter and admired the daily exchange of their family. He vaguely remembered in bits and pieces that Tina used to talk to him like that. It’d be an important memory for a child, he knew.
“I don’t know, Tina, maybe this year you should give me another one of these as birthday present. We still got couple of thousand millions of David Clark in the cryobank.” Bette pointed a finger to poke lovingly at her daughter’s chubby little face. They had went through much hardship to conceive their first baby together. It took them two good long years to find the perfect donor, and wait till Tina’s body was fully prepared. Though it had been a rough path, but the day Bette saw Angelica for the first time, was officially the most joyful day of her life. It was a miracle, a holly moment, to see a little person coming to this world with her own eyes. And once she had that happiness, she knew that she wanted more children.
“Uh, a bit late at this time of the year, wouldn’t you say?” Tina shrugged and couldn’t help but complain a little. “I’m not planning on having another soon, Bette. We barely had any sleep for an entire year, if I recall it correctly.”

I don’t know. It’s such a relief for me to actually finish a story. And it’s sad for me too.
This story, although originally a little side-away, a break from the other one, now holds a very special place in my experience on this fanfic site.
My readers, your passion and your appreciation fueled my strength all the way to make this happen. I sincerely thank you for that.
Tomorrow my journey to build a life abroad starts. I’m sorry if there’ll be less frequent posts on my other story “The Lucky One”, but I’ll try my best to continue writing.

well that was just perfect, and I see you granted my wish by adding little Angelica at the end, and they lived happy ever after, now it’s 100% perfect. Im so sad to see this is the end, but as they say “all good things must come to end”.
