    Chapter 34: Lapdance and X-Files…what do they have in common? (Bette and Tina have some fun but later Alice involves them in a freaky conversation)

     

    Bette watched her disappearing in the traffic and opened the front door of the museum. She was greeted by George, an old security guy who was standing proudly in his uniform, his posture emitting confidence and control.

     

    “Hello, George. How’s work this morning? Busy catching the bad guys?” Bette asked him teasingly just as she did every morning. Since the paintings started to arrive, Franklin had security placed everywhere and Bette became very friendly with George who in a way reminded her of her father. He was very composed, refined, and a real gentleman.

     

    “Sorry to disappoint you, Miss B, but the bad guys don’t like old George anymore. When I was in the police force I was so busy, it made me think that the criminals tried to do bad things so I could catch them. When you have time, Miss B, I’ll tell you all about my younger days. I see you can’t wait to visit your babies. Well, go on. Don’t want you to spend time with an old codger.”

     

    Bette gave him a hug and went to her office. She really enjoyed working in the museum. She liked the feel of the old paintings and the way the canvases smelled, like old linseed oils and turpentine. She liked to touch the paintings and feel the rough surface, each painting telling an individual story and bringing to mind a particular feeling.

     

    She also liked to look at the modern artists’ works. It was so different from her previous life and yet, she was becoming so familiar with them now. The modern paintings usually smelled like fresh paint with a mix of acrylic and alkyds.

     

    For Bette it was never about the value of the painting or how famous it was. Her love for art was all in the touch, in the scent, in the feeling that each painting evoked in her. Bette stopped in front of her favorite painting and suddenly thought that this is why she became so attracted to Tina, or at least it was one of the reasons.

     

    It was as if Tina became her most precious masterpiece. It was Tina’s scent, always comforting and yet exciting. It was the way she felt under Bette’s touch, soft and yet intoxicating. And there was of course Tina’s appearance, simple beauty and yet breathtaking and sexy.

    6. LMAO!!! If I wasn’t totally into your wonderful story yet, I would surely be now!… The one TV show that I was almost as crazy about as I am about the L word (I said almost) is the X-Files!!! And I love how you’re bringing it into your story through Alice. Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons with DD and GA’s real voices in it. You wouldn’t bring Mulder and Scully into this tale, would you? LOL… Anyway, great chapter as usual, and I loved that tiny part about Candace, and Bette sliding her arm around Tina’s waist from behind… Adorable! Can’t wait to see what happens at the mansion, please post soon! Thanks ;)

    8. I’m only catching up on this story now – thank you for reposting it, B&TF. Such a creative premise! Action packed too – shows the concept of ‘timeless love’ in a different light. :-) I especially liked the passage about Tina being Bette’s masterpiece, only even better up close than any painting would be.
