Chapter 35: Latent feelings and emotions (work on the documentary has begun and Bette is torn between the past and the present)
(Previously) “Tina, I know I’m making it up as I go but hear me out, please. It could happen this way you know.”
“Okay,” Tina sighed. “What happened next?”
“Okay, the FBI comes, finds nothing…the case closed again. Our witness is more persistent as ever, ‘I saw something, I saw sparks and flashes. What if it’s something to do with bombs?’ The FBI calls the ATF and this is where we come in. I can spread rumors that it was some local kids making pipe bombs,” Alice thought for a moment and said excitedly, “I can even plant some ‘hard evidence’ to misdirect them and nobody will think of searching the location or asking questions about Kroll’s experiment…and we’ll be home free.”
“Alice, this is very risky…”
“Risky-frisky, who cares…I can’t let them discover about the time portal and about Bette. They’ll take her away and do some weird experiments on her. It’s the government we’re talking about. Remember the X-files?”
“Alice, you watch too much TV. Even if they find out about the time portal, how can they prove that you used it or better yet, that you traveled into the 19th century and then came back and brought Bette with you?”
“Tina, don’t underestimate the power of the government. They are everywhere…trust no one.”

Place: Orange County, CA – Porter’s mansion
Time: Dec. 1, 2005 – Thursday
As soon as they arrived at the Porter’s mansion, Tina was immediately greeted by her assistant, Jenny Schecter.
She began flipping her notebook with the schedule and speaking rapidly with urgency in her voice, “Oh, Tina, thank goodness you’re here. We have so much to do. The renovations on the house are finished and we got permission to scout locations for the outdoor filming. We need to find out who’s the owner of the sequoia grove, especially the area behind the house. I’m assuming that the garden still belongs to the Porter family, so we just need Kit Porter’s signed permission to use the house, its premises and all the adjacent property.”

Oh boy, the longer Tina waits to tell Bette the worse it will be when she does. I can totally understand why Bette is having confused feelings…it’s because she really is in between 2 worlds…the one she grew up in and the one that she has come to know now. Neither world will be the same…knowing what the future holds changes the old world that she is from and living in the new world missing (grieving really) the loss of everyone she new in the old. It’s hard…I hope Tina really recognizes that. Great job B&TF…I love this story!

Tina should have told her before making love to Bette the first time. :) I know drama :) but it’s going to bite her in the butt big time.

Poor Bette, Christina or Tina, Christina or Tina. A hard choice but in reality it is Christina who is apart of Tina, so I say pick Tina. Besides Christina is married and well Tina is single and madly in love with Bette.
