Chapter 34: Lapdance and X-Files…what do they have in common? (Bette and Tina have some fun but later Alice involves them in a freaky conversation)
(Previously) “Okay, I’ll talk to Aaron tomorrow and tell him that I need a few more days because I hired you as a consultant. I can tell him that you can only start working on Thursday, I’ll go to the opening with you and then we both can leave the next day. I’m sure Franklin will let you take a short vacation after you spent every day during this month preparing the gallery for the exhibit.”
“Well, looks like we’re all set then,” Alice said, rubbing her hands in excitement.
“We?” Tina asked, looking at Alice skeptically.
“I’m coming with you guys…at least for a few days…please…”
“And what would you be doing there, Alice?” Tina smiled skeptically.
“I’ll find something to write about. My editor has been pretty lenient with me after I submitted a few very successful stories. Maybe I could write about your documentary and it will buy me some time to investigate the current situation with the ATF and do some damage control. No way can the government find out about Bette and the time portal…no way.”

Place: Los Angeles, CA – the CAC
Time: November 2005
On Monday Bette went to the CAC as usual to finish the final preparations for the exhibit’s opening and to supervise the arrival of the remaining paintings. Tina called her work and was summoned for a meeting with her boss, Aaron Kornbluth. She told Bette that she would stop by the CAC as soon as she was finished. If Tina was concerned about Candace or Helena, she didn’t show it.
Her final kiss, after she dropped Bette at the museum, was warm and passionate, full of emotions and desires.
“Mmm, Tee,” Bette moaned as they pulled away from each other, “I don’t want us ever to lose these feelings of love and trust and desire. The things you do to me, baby…do we have to work? I wish every day was Sunday and we can stay in bed and love each other with abandon.”
“I know, Bette, I feel the same way…but we have our nights and mornings. I’ll see you soon, babe,” and with one fast kiss Tina drove away.

LMAO!!! If I wasn’t totally into your wonderful story yet, I would surely be now!… The one TV show that I was almost as crazy about as I am about the L word (I said almost) is the X-Files!!! And I love how you’re bringing it into your story through Alice. Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons with DD and GA’s real voices in it. You wouldn’t bring Mulder and Scully into this tale, would you? LOL… Anyway, great chapter as usual, and I loved that tiny part about Candace, and Bette sliding her arm around Tina’s waist from behind… Adorable! Can’t wait to see what happens at the mansion, please post soon! Thanks ;)
Alice better cool it or the gang will be visiting her in jail. I am thinking that Tina has the better of the 2 ideas. Send Tina to my house for the lap dance, I need lessons.
I’m only catching up on this story now – thank you for reposting it, B&TF. Such a creative premise! Action packed too – shows the concept of ‘timeless love’ in a different light. :-) I especially liked the passage about Tina being Bette’s masterpiece, only even better up close than any painting would be.
