“Why do I sense there’s a but in that sentence?”
“But I’m in new territory here so… I don’t know how I would react if anyone would come after… the person I’m with” Tina carefully chose her words on that one. “How about you? Are you territorial Chef Porter?” She counter attacked.
“I think that as a chef you have to be… but I’m not usually territorial outside my kitchen… if someone comes after… the person I’m with… and that person decides to act on it or pursue that, then I’m better off without that person… and trust me after being cheated on it took a long time to understand that” Bette replied with honesty.
Well I would certainly get territorial around you and I bet you have hundreds of women throwing themselves at your feet on daily basis Chef Porter Tina thought and realized that perhaps she was going to become a territorial person.
“I think I’ll go a swim… wanna join me?” Bette offered trying to lighten the mood.
“Yeah, sounds good”
After they were done they found themselves rather bothered by their little swimming in the ocean session for it was becoming quite clear to both of them that the proximity of their bodies had quite an effect on the other. Nothing serious had happened, just a few kisses and tight hugs but something about tiny bikinis and the feel of wet skin against wet skin had done the trick.
As both of them had dried out under the sun they decided maybe it was time for a quiet walk on the beach, since their conversation had been a bit filled with sexual innuendos.
“So how did it go with your parents?” Bette asked knowing that question would not turn into something else.
“My parents… well my father is not the issue there, my mother is… god she can be so… annoying…” Tina said truly frustrated.
“How’s so?” Bette asked smiling tenderly.
“By being herself… I mean I love my mother and I think she did a wonderful job at raising us given the circumstances but… that’s the point she doesn’t understand… she did a wonderful job… now she doesn’t have to do anything anymore, just let us be… let us make our own mistakes and decisions and stop interfering with our lives…”

This is a great story and I really wish that Bette would be totally honest with Tina. She knows shr is falling for her completely and so has Tina fallen for her. Bette just needs to be empkatic about not being hurt by Tina.Although she did mention it, I’m not sure Tina really understood how much pain she would be in if Tina walked away. However I don’t think Tina would walk away even if she is a bit afraid. The difference is if Tina’s family strongly disapproved, especially her mother/ We shall see how it plays out. Great chapter. Thanks.
