“So basically you only do weddings that are held outside LA to have an excuse to take a few days off?” Tina asked rather amused.
“Well… pretty much” Bette answered smiling. “I know… I should be able to take days off whenever I want to but… to be honest… A-I’m a workaholic and B-I hadn’t had the need to be away you know… especially after… Caroline”
Tina felt sorry for the brunette, true she had gone through that experience once but then again in the end that relationship didn’t hold any real significance for her. Sure it hurt and her ego got bruised but she still didn’t really know what it must feel like to be cheated on by the person you’re in love with, the person you completely trust.
“Have you heard from her after… you know” Tina wasn’t sure if she should be asking such a question but her curiosity got the best of her.
“Well she used every available resource to try and apologize right after that happened but I completely shut down any form of communication with her… and about six months ago she tried again but luckily I have crazy and crazier… they can be… creatively persuasive… if needed” Bette said smiling.
“I can only imagine”
“But don’t worry they don’t get territorial unless… well unless you give them a very good reason and I believe Caroline gave them the perfect reason… and really, I think I would do the same if the situation was reversed you know, they are my family after all… so I think I would get persuasive as well”
“Yeah I get your point” Tina said pensive.
“Ok now I’ve managed to scare you”
“No… it’s not that… I was just thinking that you’re right, like if Kelly was in that situation I would also get territorial if I saw her in pain and the cause of that pain would come back after she made sure she closed that door”
“Oh so you can get territorial?” Bette asked with a suspicious expression.
“We’re not speaking about friends anymore, are we?” Tina smiled and Bette returned the smile but remained silent, waiting for an answer. “Let’s just say that usually I’m not a territorial person” Tina made a pause.

This is a great story and I really wish that Bette would be totally honest with Tina. She knows shr is falling for her completely and so has Tina fallen for her. Bette just needs to be empkatic about not being hurt by Tina.Although she did mention it, I’m not sure Tina really understood how much pain she would be in if Tina walked away. However I don’t think Tina would walk away even if she is a bit afraid. The difference is if Tina’s family strongly disapproved, especially her mother/ We shall see how it plays out. Great chapter. Thanks.
