    Tina hears from the past; Sinister folks attempting to ruin her future with Bette?

     

    Oh, how she loved this woman…to touch her, taste her, to spend those deliberate and languorous moments in love-making…their bodies glistening in the sweat of sexual arousal…

     

    Just as that memory passed in her mind, the two women she was expecting entered the shop.

    “Oh, dear God, please don’t stop…please…I love you so much.”

     

    “I’d like nothing more than to make you come over and over again, but I’ve got to get back to work.  I love you, Ann.  You are delicious and definitely give new meaning to lunch hour, but if I don’t return soon, there aren’t going to be anymore paid lunch hours to enjoy.”

     

    “Just ten minutes more…hold me…touch me…”

     

    “I never can refuse you. I never will.  We’re going to have a wonderful life together.”

     

     

    As that distant memory of afternoon delight flashed to the forefront of her mind, Ann Kennard could not suppress a grin.  Those were happy times…filled with love and contentment…not dislike, anger and resentment that slowly grew as the years passed.  It was a slow and steady growth that deepened its stranglehold with each day’s passing.  Ann could do nothing to suppress the gnawing sadness which was a by-product of the anger.  He’s basically a good man.  He provides for us.  He loves the children.  This was the mantra she repeated several times a day.  It did nothing to ease the feeling of being slowly eaten alive from the inside out – day after day, year after year, the fangs of despair ripping at her insides – leaving nothing for any sort of happiness to grab onto.  My children – I will always treasure that gift – They are the one thing I can still smile about.

     

    “And now he’s gone,” Ann mused.  “Maybe…maybe I can learn to be me again.”

    The morning for Tina had been a grueling one.  Opening statements had gone well, but from the moment they ended it was all downhill.  Her police witnesses were late and Judge Morris was fuming.  He hated delays and from all appearances, he did not like Tina.

     

    “Miss Kennard…” He never used ‘Ms’.  “Miss Kennard, do you think you as a representative of the District Attorney’s office of Philadelphia could be a bit more prepared?  You knew full well we’d be having opening statements and proceeding directly to testimony this morning.”

    13. I can’t remember if it was last night or this morning when I wondered when you’d have time to post a new chapter. I finally managed to finish up on your first story after reading it off and on for several months (I’m a slow reader…shush =p) and absolutely loved it. Normally I’d think, “Lawyers, courts…zzzzzzzz…BOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!” But having B&T involved makes it very interesting. It’s like you snuck in law lessons without me even knowing.
