Music to my Ears (Chap 5)
“Then why did you give me the tickets? Especially considering I didn’t realize who you were?” Tina asked of Bette.
“Well…”
“Well why?”
“Because I was hoping you would like to see me again. Well I know I would like to see you again and I’m not very good at asking people out. I know it’s lame, but I was stuck and desperate” Bette admitted.
“Desperate? You?” Tina now laughed.
“YES I was desperate” Bette took another step closer to Tina. “I’ve never met someone like you Tina. Someone who doesn’t see me as the rock star, someone who lets me do mundane things, someone who lets me be me I guess. And I know I haven’t known you that long at all but I didn’t want to lose my opportunity to get to know you better. I was desperate for an excuse to see you again.”
“Oh” was all Tina could reply as she took in every word Bette was saying.
Both women just stood there in the motionless elevator, silently looking into each other’s eyes.
“So…come to the concert?” Bette asked softly.
“I don’t know Bette, I’m not into rock music” Tina teased.
“Oh” Bette said looking down at the ground.
“I’m joking Bette” Tina laughed, touching Bette lightly on her arm.
“OH” Bette smiled.
“How about dinner first?” Tina asked.
“Oh I don’t know, I usually am pretty busy getting ready for the concert…” Bette rambled.
“No…” Tina said beginning to blush.
“No?” Bette smiled.
“I was meaning now…would you like to come over for dinner?” Tina said looking straight into Bette’s eyes.
Bette couldn’t help but be taken back a little. She smiled down at the blonde before her. “I’d love dinner.”
“Oh…oh good” Tina smile back breathing a big sigh of relief.
“Let me grab my coat” Bette said pressing the elevator button and opening the doors back up on her floor.
“Sure” Tina replied following Bette back to the room.
Bette couldn’t help but glance back and smile at Tina as they ventured down that hotel hallway. Bette was doing everything in her power not to skip down the hall even though she really really wanted to.
“Oh Tina, I’d like to introduce you to my friend Shane” Bette said as they walked into the room.

That was truly funny. Alice and Megan provided humor and then Bette and Shane added to that with the fly catching exercise. Even Kit got into the game while learning how to use the chop stickes. Then there is Tina all calm and collected. Is dinner served yet?
Enjoying this story very much and happy they have all met and are getting along even Alice. PPS
LOL i wish someone famous came to my dinner…Laurel and JB, preferably
LMAOOO Wash On, Wash Off! Excellent piece of writing, providing laughs and fun at just the right places. I think this was much more than just a filler, and looking forward to more. PPS
Good that B&T are ok. That was so funny and cute. Only Bette Porter can do everything, she have a lot of talents. I gonna get my chopsticks to catch a fly just like Bette lol. The Karate Kid moive is good. Anyway please post soon, thanks!
K, your story just keeps getting better!!!!! I am so loving this, I just hope B&T will get some time to be with each other. Thanks PPS
Ok, I’m in for a dinner but I need to see the original list of requirements to ensure your compliance! LOL. Plus, I’ll have to add a few of my own…
i finally had time to catch up … love this story… and now i am waiting for the next chapter
Now I want some good Chinese food. The food around here sucks. :(
ROFLMAO…!!!!!!!!! I would have imagined anything but that!… You keep surprising me everytime! Only one Bette Porter could possess the talent of a karate master! LOL!… Nice K, very nice!!! And thanks by the way, once again you proved yourself with CLASS!!!
Nice “Karate Kid” and “Kung Fu” references. XD
I am loving this story :) Nice for Bette to meet someone who can view her without wearing the rose-tinted glasses.
Very sweet. Now how do you bring in Dana.
Smooth, very smooth. Love it!
BEGINNER LUCK !!! Wow, this was absolutely hilarious, Miss K. In fact, you know what ? Chopsticks do remind me of “The karate kid” too. It seems we all have the same cultural references, eh ? Well, I’m glad you didn’t have to use that other quote from the movie ” wax on, wax off, wax on, wax off ” though. And this will be your bext challenge ! Just kidding, just kidding, don’t worry. LOL !! Anyway, back to the “real” challenge… Well, I hope you don’t consider your “mission” to be accomplished, eh ? I mean, this was hardly a “romantic dinner”, now was it ? I mean, ” hello ! ” Alice was there !!! I understand that people may have different concept of “romantic”, but only to some extent, right ? LOL !! Well, I have to run since I’m supposed to work ( not everybody is off today. Lol !!! ) but hopefully I’ll be able to comment further later. This was great, K, and your protagonists did make progress toward the “goal”. It wasn’t just a filler as you said. I loved it.
This scenario has so much potential. It’s great to see B/T in different roles. Loved the inside “Karate Kid” reference. Thanks for writing!
They are so f-ing cute together ;) B&T I mean, maybe Alice will start to see them as real people with feelings instead of a story she has to get at any cost. Hopefully they will get to know each other a little better after the concert so they cam get on with the romance.
This story is cute. Loved the one on one action with Bette and Tina. Hopefully they can get some more time alone soon.
Too funny! No filler here…all good. Your story just gets better with each chapter.
mmmmm i hate flies…..nice homely touch …meg is the star 4 me…
Love it, very funny, can’t wait for the next chapter:)
