    Love Love LOve 5/6

“Yeah now that is funny.” Dana squeezed the back of her neck blushing to the root of her hairs. Alice tried to compose herself.

“Don’t worry your secret is safe with me.” Alice said with conviction.

Dana just smiled. Alice brought her gaze back to the sea. The moon was full and the horizon was clear. She let out a contented sigh.

    “It’s beautiful isn’t it?”

    “Depends.”

“What?” Alice raised her eyebrows questioningly. Dana shrugged her shoulders.

“It’s beautiful only when a beautiful lady like you is sitting beside me.” Dana said naturally.

Alice chuckled and looked back into the sea. She pursed her lips trying to suppress the obvious happiness in her.

“Watch that mouth of yours Fairbanks.” She nudged onto Dana’s ribs gently.

Dana almost melted at the gesture. She gathered all her courage to wrap her arm around Alice’s waist and hoped the blonde wouldn’t run away. She was delighted that not only the blonde didn’t run away, she also rested her head onto her shoulder. Now this is beautiful, Dana thought and couldn’t help spotting a huge grin on her lips.

“Now what is that smile for?”

    “Nothing.” Dana smiles grew larger.

Alice moved her head away from Dana’s shoulder to look at her. Dana’s arm was still wrapped around Alice’s waist.

“I don’t see nothing with that face.” Alice gave her ‘look’ to Dana.

“Just that.” Dana trailed off. “I don’t know.” She shrugged her shoulders.

“You don’t know?” Alice raised her eyebrows.

“Yeah.” Dana said as she withdrew her arm from Alice.

“Hmmm….” Alice nodded a few times with a mischievous smile. “I see.”

Dana looked at the blonde puzzled. She could immediately see an evil plan on Alice’s mind but it was too late as she felt a something in her shirt. She rubbed her back and felt that something that made her uncomfortable. Sand. It was sand. She looked at Alice and saw a huge grin on her lips.

“Oh no you didn’t.” Dana shook her head and looked at the blonde intently.

“Oh yeah I did.” Alice nodded grinning from face to face.

“YOU!!!!!” Dana yelled and within seconds both were up and Alice ran as fast as she could with Dana chasing after her, both screaming and laughing along the way. After a while Dana managed to tackle Alice and both were thrown into the water. Alice didn’t give up. She splashed water at the brunette and tried to swim away from her. But Dana managed to grab both her forearms to prevent her from getting away. Alice fought for Dana to release her arms, but was too weak as she was already exhausted from running, screaming, swimming and laughing all the way. She stopped her motion and breathed heavily.

    1. Very readable, uhhuh — have no worries on that. Excellent chapter. I loved all the little vignettes that show how they are drawing closer together. The Carmen/Shane subplot is great. Love that Alice and Dana met up at the carnival and had such a great time. With the smooching at the end, I have high hopes for chapter 6. Thanks so much!!
