“James will you lock up?” Bette asked.

“Yeah sure.” He said. Bette smiled at him and walked up behind Tina and put her arms around her.

“Hey babe are you ready to go?” She asked.

“Yeah.” Tina said.

“Good because I have a surprise for you.” Bette whispered in her ear.

“Oh yeah what is it?” Tina asked.

“You will just have to wait and see.” Bette said with a grin.

“Bette Porter what are you up to?” Tina asked. Bette took her hand and lead her out of the gallery. Bette drove to this little bed and breakfast.

“What are we doing here?” Tina asked.

“We are going to spend the night together with no kids. Kit is going to spend the night with the kids.” Bette said. “I couldn’t wait another day to be alone with you.” She kissed Tina. Tina started to get out of the car. “No let me.” Bette got out and hurried around the car and opened the door for Tina. She offered her hand to Tina.

Bedroom

Bette had been there earlier to get the room ready. She sprinkled the bed with rose petals and laid a couple daisies (Tina’s favorite) on the bed. She had called before they left so the bottle of wine would be ready when they got there. She had even brought them a change of clothes to wear home the next day.

“Bette you are so romantic” Tina said kissing Bette.

“We have been so wrapped up with the kids and work the past couple of weeks I thought we could use a night away. Just us.” Bette said. She left Tina’s side to open the bottle of wine. Tina sat on the bed and picked up a daisy and smelled it.

“What about Jess’s date tomorrow I want to be there when she gets picked up.” Tina said.

“Don’t worry we will be. Now lets talk about us and not the kids for one night.” Bette said handing Tina a bottle of wine.

“I think I can do that but I have never known you to be able to go a couple of hours without mentioning them or looking at their picture.” Tina said.

“I have no idea what you are talking about.” Bette said slyly. Tina knew her too well.
