    Tire of Hate..

    Marina smiled at her former employee as she set down a plate of Cobb salad and a cup of chamomile tea on Tina’s table. These days, she didn’t go out of her office to serve customers – but the blonde before her was a very special exemption. Not only was she a dear friend, but Bette Porter herself had called her up a couple of days ago – asking, heck, telling her to treat her girlfriend like the VIP she was. “So you’re spending your summer vacation in LA?”

    “Nope,” Tina shook her head. “I’m just here till the day after tomorrow. I have to fly back to New York before my internship begins on Monday. I’ll be working at Focus Features.” She grinned broadly, can’t help but feel a little proud of her achievement.

    “Really?” Marina brightened up, looking genuinely interested. Focus Features, she had read a blurb about the film company a few days ago. “Do you know that they’re currently shooting a lesbian movie?”

    “Lez Girls, I know.” Tina quirked her brows, a giddy smile on her face.

    Marina studied the girl for a moment. Tina looked like she was about to burst with the tidbit that she wanted to share. “What are you not telling me?”

    “I’m gonna work as a PA for the movie!” Tina let out in one breath, her face radiating pure ecstasy. She pointed to her laptop. “I just got an email from my supervisor, telling me that I’ll be working as the director’s personal assistant.” She shared. Well, lackey was the more appropriate term – but PA sounded better. She was gonna be a slave in the coming months, but who cares? For her, she was damn lucky to be that close to the top man in production.

    “Wow.. that’s huge..” Marina, ever the supportive one, egged on. “Bijoux Celeron’s directing, right?”

    “No.” Tina drawled, inwardly chucking at the mention of Alice’s former secret lover. “He was supposed to but he backed out at the last minute to direct one of those Marvel superhero films. They got..” She looked at her email and scanned it for information. “..Keith Arden to replace him.” She bit her bottom lip, wondering what his connection was with the only other Arden she knew.

    1. My eyes bulge out of their sockets…WOW…54 pages. Wow, I can only bow in admiration. Thank you. On the story, both are having a hellion on the break time, man I am having a hellion on the break time and not even part of the story. I guess we havnet seen the last of the wannabe musician back. What happens next? ;)

    8. Thank you Alchy for such a wonderful and long read! You did a great job of weaving the scenes together. I love the Tina-Ken teasing, Bette – Sonja “recovery/addiction” moment, 3-step recovery for Tina, Sam/Bette’s conversation and the Tibette car. So very, very, very clever!!!! Ok…I sense that “Keith Arden” is somehow connected to a certain “Kate Arden.” Hm…looks like a black cloud on the Tibette reunion horizon. But…I cling to the hope that Ken’s almost secret sharing of perhaps an engagement is in the future. You know that small ray of hope is what is bringing your readers back!!!!! Get some rest Alchy…get your creative juices a break but come back real soon…we need our Alchy fix!

    10. Your story always satisfies, Alchemy. You get some of everything in here, and it’s all fab. I loved this chapter. Here’s hoping that Tina can stick to #3 on her list, and I hope Bette can do the same. Great, great update, Alchemy. Thank you! :)

Brilliant chapter Alchemy – you always take such care with detail, emotion, characterization – amazing ;-) As someone said abt the previous chapter – one thing Bette still needs to learn is how to take Tina off that pedestal and treat her like an equal. Relationships mean sharing – both good things and bad – IMO that’s the biggest repair they need, the only truly important one. I loved seeing Tina & Ken again – what a great father daughter dynamic they have. I see Tina is still eating her pain, haha! The flashback was great and so was the bittersweet ending.
