    Match maid in heaven..

     

    “Don’t worry, I’ll tell her not to do it again.” Sonja promised, straightening up to arrange her stuff and check the locks on her luggages. She better get a move on soon if she was to make the airport on time. “I’ll talk to her before I leave.”

     

    “But she’s–”

     

    Sonja stopped the start of a petulant argument with a hand on Bette’s arm. “She’s still rough around the edges, but Miss Tina’s a fast learner, she’ll get the hang of it in no time. Give her a day or two.”

     

    “That’s not the point!” Bette exclaimed, shrugging Sonja’s hand away. “I don’t care if she’ll eventually improve and get better at the job, I just don’t want her to be my maid.”

     

    “Why not?”

     

    “Because.”

     

    Sonja looked at Bette expectantly, urging her to elaborate. “Because?”

     

    “Because I said so.” The brunette folded her arms, leaving it at that. “I’m the boss, I’m entitled to have my reasons without sharing them with you.”

     

    “I see.” Sonja nodded slowly, playing along. “You want me to fire her for you?”

     

    “Yes.”

     

    “Yes?”

     

    “Sí, por favor.”

     

    “Okay..” Sonja sighed in resignation. “Then I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.” She shrugged apologetically.

     

    “And why not?” Bette’s eyebrow arched in disbelief.

     

    “If you want her out Miss Bette, then you be the one to tell her to go. She’s your responsibility, like you said, you’re the boss.”

     

    Bette frowned. The nerve of this woman! “Stop twisting my words, you know what I meant.”

     

    “I did. And I didn’t twist what you said, I merely repeated it.” Sonja pointed out diplomatically, treading dangerous waters with her volatile ward. “So as the boss, the task of firing the help is entirely on your shoulders. If you wish to fire Miss Tina, then feel free to do so. It’s up to you.”

     

    “I can’t do that.” Bette said through clenched teeth, feeling her throat constricting all of a sudden. Like hell she would go marching back to the mansion and tell Kennard that she was sacking her marvelous ass and sending her packing! She might have been hit a little too hard on the head with a pillow, but she’s still capable of thinking straight. And the thing that Sonja was suggesting about firing Tina herself? Crazy! Downright loco. Kennard would probably bite her head off and shove a foot up her ass. “I sure as fucking hell won’t do that.”

There are so many examples of your unique humor from Bette’s admission of her love for Tina to Tina’s drooling conversation with Bette concerning her breath. Awesome.
