“I know that look..”
“What look?”
“The one you’re giving me now..”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about..” The brunette played coy.
“You want me.”
Bette lifted her brows in surprise. “My.. aren’t you a little presumptuous?”
“No. Just observant.” Tina countered.
“You think I want you?”
“Don’t you?”
Bette smiled, stalking towards the blonde, her brown eyes smoldering. She backed Tina against her room’s dining table and locked her in place with both of her arms. She stared at Tina’s parted lips. “Wouldn’t that be committing sexual harassment on my part if I do?”
“I don’t..” Against her better judgment, Tina felt her lips gravitating towards Bette’s lips. Rational thought always flew out the window whenever they were this close. “..care-”
“Porteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!”
A high pitched shriek from outside the room made them jump back from each other in fright. Panicking, they grabbed the first thing they could find and pretended to be busy with it.
Alice came barging in a second later. “Por..” She started to call out but then stopped when she saw the two people by the table. “What have you guys been doing?” Alice smiled cheekily at the flustered pair.
“Nothing..”
Alice folded her arms, her smile broadening. “Then why are you two acting weird?”
“No we’re not!” The two chorused, continuing to clean.
“Oh really?” Alice smirked, stuffing her hands casually inside the pockets of her jacket. “Why is Tina cleaning the table with a mop and Porter? Why are you using a feather duster on your bagel? Brushing away crumbs?”
Realizing what she was doing, Bette ditched the cleaning tool. “Shut up.” She snapped at an impish Alice and her shitty timing. “Why are you here?”
“To kidnap you guys..”
“What?”
“We’re going somewhere for three days.” The blonde declared, saying it like it was a done deal and her friends had no say in it whatsoever. “It’s Dane’s birthday tomorrow and I’m doing this surprise thing for her.”
“And this was decided when?” Bette asked.
“Just a few hours ago. Its one of those spur of the moment things..”
Tina sighed. “I can’t just go Al, I have to report to the set.” She declined the not-so-invitation with an apologetic look.
“You don’t have to.” Alice smiled. “I took the liberty of calling in sick for you..”
“What?!” Tina exclaimed. “What did you tell them?”
Alice shrugged nonchalantly. “No biggie, I just told ‘em you had swine flu.”
“…”
“Now instead of a three-day break, they’re giving you the whole week off! Great news, right?”
Bette coughed on a fist, hiding a smile.
Tina, on the other hand, looked faint and pale.
“So, uh, where are we going exactly?” Bette asked her friend.
Alice grinned from ear to ear. “The Hamptons, baby!”

this installment had me literally wheezing with laughter! so many one-liners i had to read again, they were just so good. so funny and sweet, our two stubborn soulmates – the maid scenario was a tricky proposition and you pulled it off brilliantly :-) this story is one of a kind. belated birthday wishes alchemy – i hope it was a great one – and i can’t wait for the next post

This was the first I have read of your story. I read this whole post in one sitting. I will have to go back and read all the other post. Nothing else is going to being getting done around here until I’m caught up. :)This was crazy fun in places. Bette is so mean and sarcastic but this has been a fun read. Thanks for the post.

Oh I haven’t laughed that hard in quite a while. Alchemy that was just an amazing chapter, all of it. There are so many examples of your unique humor from Bette’s admission of her love for Tina to Tina’s drooling conversation with Bette concerning her breath. Awesome.
