Just The Girl 2.0 – Chapter Eighteen (Based loosely on HYD: Returns)

    “Which is?”

    “I walked to the set.”

    “You always walk.”

    “I do.”

    “That’s your point?”

“Not entirely. You see, I walked. Melissa took the bus, our dear director drove up in his ugly Cadillac, the producer hitched a ride with the service van, one of the grips rode a bike, but you..” He pointed an accusatory finger at the blonde. “You arrived in a flashy chauffeured Bentley with a bodyguard riding shotgun and another one carrying your stuff.” He narrowed his eyes at his friend. “That’s my point. So is there something you like to tell me Blondie?”

    “Nothing.” Tina played coy.

“You left the condo in a rush last night..”

    “I was in a hurry.”

    “Where did you move to?”

    “Weschester..”

The guy whistled. “The houses and condos there are pretty far up your price range..”

    “You think so?”

“Know so.” He said matter-of-fact. “I think I know someone who lives there..”

“Yeah?” Tina purposely kept her back on Gabe, focusing on the script on her lap.

“Does the name Porter ring a bell?”

    “Maybe..”

    “You staying at her place?”

“I could be.” Tina answered cryptically.

“Hey, you crashed in our couch for days. Least you could do is give me a non-vague answer. A simple yes or no would do.” Gabe wagged a finger, using the gratitude card on his friend. “So? Are you staying at Bette’s house? Or mansion? Or palace? Or whatever?”

    Tina sighed. “Yes.”

“That wasn’t so hard, right?” Throwing the garbage bag carelessly near the door, Gabe gave up on fixing Keith’s mess and jumped beside Tina on the couch, giving her a knowing smirk. “I should have known that when you said you found a new place in such short notice that you finally patched things up with Bette..”

“We didn’t really fix things yet.” Tina sighed, highlighting Keith’s notes on today’s script for the director, ignoring the look of surprise on Gabe’s face.

    “So you’re not back together?”

“We never broke up.” Tina clarified for the hundredth time.

“I know. But you guys are not back back together like before?”
