“Oh God no. I’ll be making a sandwich and wonder if she likes grape or strawberry jelly. I hear a song and think, that’s a song I would like to dance with her to. I want to know what flowers she likes and what movies make her cry. I never wanted to know anything about other women and I want to know everything about her.” She smiled at me.
“Baby girl, you’re falling for her and it’s obvious to me but you both are in a bad situation with her job. Is she a lesbian?”
“Al was asking Shane questions earlier and she said that Tina had broken up with her boyfriend to explore her feelings for women. She also said that she was interested in someone.”
“So she’s not sure if she’s gay or not? Bette, you’ve got to let her come to you. You’ve put it out there that you’re interested. You aren’t patient with most things and less so with something you want but you have to take a step back and let her call the shots.”
“But if she is still unsure, she probably is afraid.”
“Probably so but pressure from you will make her more scared. What’s the deal with Shane and Tina?”
“She seems nice and Al really likes her. From what Shane was saying earlier, she was interested in Tina but Tina’s wasn’t interested in her. They live at the same place and have been friends for a few years.”
“Is Shane also just coming out?”
“Umm…no. Umm, when we were talking last night, we know some of the same people.”
“Know as in the biblical sense?”
“Yes.” I suddenly was embarrassed by my past behavior and to admit to Kit that Shane and I share some the same women freaked me out. What if she said something to Tina?
Kit could tell that my thoughts were racing and reached across the desk and took my hand. “Shane will be there to help Tina figure out what it is she’s looking for without scaring her. You can’t do that. She has her job that she has to think about and you have to respect that.”
“I know. Kit, what do I do to stop thinking about her every minute?”

Good to know that baby G will be okay. 3 days old, they break at any age, at 3 days they are just little sleeping, eating and pooping machines. Now for the story, I know the drama is coming just hope I can live thru it. Back to read the story.

Loved, loved, loved it. Poor Bette, she needs to slow down as Kit said she needs to pace herself. Tina will come around in due time, it’s just so frustrating to wait. BTW, did anyone see JB & LH on the Glaad Awards tonight on BRAVO, they were presenters, and did a little banter on THE SHOW. They were lovely, Laurel’s hair looked darker for some reason. PPS
Great chapter – I loved Kit’s advice to Bette much better than anything poor foxy brown’s been given to say since season 1. Thank god for fan fic authors who know how to give characters some depth. You are great.

Wonderful to know that Little G is doing well…hmmm, 3 days old, that is a bit new, but so precious….Loved Kit’s advice, and B’s comment about making a s’wich & wondering what kind of jelly T likes….like pattifloatn, I suspect their friends will figure it out pretty soon & though it doesn’t require her Yoda like sensibilities on this one, I think Shane may be the first to get a clue if she was observant when she went in to grab a beer ;) Poor B’s gentle heart learning, but not knowing who T is interested in..Now I’m trying to figure out what drama you have in store for us, and well I don’t want to imagine the worst, so I’m trying not to think about it…just hoping you post soon & thanks for this one!!!
Is it Wednesday yet? I’m happy to hear that little G had a safe trip. Must have been hard to let him go… Thanks for bringing up the Spawn of Satan,they’ve been out of school a couple of weeks and are already running crazy in the streets. Bette’s dying to know Tina’s favorite flowers and what movies make her cry. Yep, she’s got it bad. I LOL on their Wonder Woman discussion. I think the invisible airplane is Wonder Woman’s coolest/funniest weapon because you can’t see it but it’s there tucked somewhere in a hangar or parked on a runway. Thanks for this update, NAG! :>

This story is just so touching – every chapter just warms the heart. I join the choir in saying “How long until Wednesday?” I am so grateful that Tina texted Bette to let her know she received the message. I hope Bette makes the connection that Tina has been interested in her for several months.So happy to hear that little G made it safe and sound!
NAG, you have an incredible way of telling a story that just pulls the reader in and makes them feel part of it. So much of your story talks about simple interaction with characters, but you make evrything sound so interesting. I’m hooked for life on anything you write, I swear! So, Bette’s learning patience and Tina is struggling with her feelings…this is such a good story.
Love this story, Bette is not one to move slow, she does need to let Tina move at her own pace.
In the last chapter Tina got some good advice from her mother and a college professor, now Bette got very good advice from her sister Kit. Both are lucky to have people in their lives that they can talk to. How long will it take before Alice puts it together or for that matter Shane?
