If You Never Say Anything to Me ch.14
If You Never Say Anything to Me
Chapter 14
I was surprised that Alice actually called me for brunch knowing that she and Gabby had probably left together last night and that she was not on her best day a morning person. I had hoped she wouldn’t call. I had tossed and turned so much during the night that I was tired. I got up though because to sit here and think of Tina and whether she got my message would drive me insane. At least meeting Alice would take my mind off Tina for a little while. We agreed to meet at The Planet and I checked to make sure I had my phone as I was leaving the house. I didn’t think that Tina would check her messages over the weekend but if she did, I didn’t want to miss a call if she decided to call me.
When I got to The Planet, I saw Alice sitting at a table with Shane. I waved to them and went to place an order for an omelet and coffee. I made my way to the table, avoiding a couple of women who were trying to get my attention. I kissed Alice and said hello to Shane.
“Hey Bette. Good to see you again.”
“You too. Have you guys been here long?” I asked looking at the table which already had coffee and an open newspaper.
“Naw,” Alice said. “Shane was here when Gabby dropped me off to get my car and I called you then. Did you get any rest last night?”
“Yes, thank. I fell asleep not too long after I got home.”
“Shane, what was up with your friend Tina? She wanted to leave so quickly.” Alice asked.
The waitress brought me my coffee and I wasn’t paying too much attention as I doctored it to my liking. “I don’t know. She said she wasn’t feeling well. I called her this morning and went by her place but she wasn’t there.”
That got my attention quickly. Shane went by her house this morning. How good of friends were they? Were they together? If Tina had told her she wasn’t feeling well and they were dating wouldn’t Shane have stayed with her?

Good to know that baby G will be okay. 3 days old, they break at any age, at 3 days they are just little sleeping, eating and pooping machines. Now for the story, I know the drama is coming just hope I can live thru it. Back to read the story.
glad that bette has kit to talk to. nice to see the gang coming together. gabby is bad news for alice.:)PPS glad to hear little g is doing well and arrived safely…
YOU KNOW I LOVE THIS STORY!!! I LOOOOOOOVE IT! IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER! (Better turn the caps lock off or you’ll hear me in FL) YOU ROCK, nagster! Absolutely ROCK! (If only true life was like this…well…it prolly is for some…but not for me…boo hoo) Gawd! Just love love love love love this story! :) And I’m so glad G is in capable and caring hands! He’s lucky to have had you! Bless him!
Wonderful story! PPS!
LOL. Bette’s got it baaad. She better pace herself or she’ll implode with frustration. Can’t wait for Wednesday.
aaawwwwwwwwwwwwww, this is so intriguing…i want more…NOW!!!!! SORRY Baby G left us. i was so fond of the littlee…another one 3 days old? wow, they leave the nest young these days!!! whoa.
Loved, loved, loved it. Poor Bette, she needs to slow down as Kit said she needs to pace herself. Tina will come around in due time, it’s just so frustrating to wait. BTW, did anyone see JB & LH on the Glaad Awards tonight on BRAVO, they were presenters, and did a little banter on THE SHOW. They were lovely, Laurel’s hair looked darker for some reason. PPS
Great chapter – I loved Kit’s advice to Bette much better than anything poor foxy brown’s been given to say since season 1. Thank god for fan fic authors who know how to give characters some depth. You are great.
Great Chapter!!!! Bring on Wednesday!!!! Thanks PPS
I hope tomorrow turns out to be Wednesday! Love your writing.
I love how you are building this story! I can’t wait for wednesday :)
Wonderful to know that Little G is doing well…hmmm, 3 days old, that is a bit new, but so precious….Loved Kit’s advice, and B’s comment about making a s’wich & wondering what kind of jelly T likes….like pattifloatn, I suspect their friends will figure it out pretty soon & though it doesn’t require her Yoda like sensibilities on this one, I think Shane may be the first to get a clue if she was observant when she went in to grab a beer ;) Poor B’s gentle heart learning, but not knowing who T is interested in..Now I’m trying to figure out what drama you have in store for us, and well I don’t want to imagine the worst, so I’m trying not to think about it…just hoping you post soon & thanks for this one!!!
Is it Wednesday yet? I’m happy to hear that little G had a safe trip. Must have been hard to let him go… Thanks for bringing up the Spawn of Satan, they’ve been out of school a couple of weeks and are already running crazy in the streets. Thank God my ‘lil spawn of Satan is in summer school! Later NAG PPS.
Can’t wait to find out what happens on wednesday.Thank God for Alice, she is the right person to find out information without even knowing she is doing it.looking forward to the next chapter PPS
Yay! an update. i love this story!and u hope that by ‘talk’ you mean something else:)PPS.
Just found this story. I’m really enjoying it. You’re a gifted writer. I’m excited to check out your other story too. I have one minor request: can you please add Dana into the group? I miss her presence in fanfiction land :)
NAG, so glad the Aunt called to tell you the G’ster made the flight ok, I know you were a little worried about that. Now that cookout was perfect, just what I’d like. I know you having evil writing thoughts so please don’t let them spill to much in this story, somehow I can see em comming. Thank you, Md
Bette’s dying to know Tina’s favorite flowers and what movies make her cry. Yep, she’s got it bad. I LOL on their Wonder Woman discussion. I think the invisible airplane is Wonder Woman’s coolest/funniest weapon because you can’t see it but it’s there tucked somewhere in a hangar or parked on a runway. Thanks for this update, NAG! :>
good story.
This story is just so touching – every chapter just warms the heart. I join the choir in saying “How long until Wednesday?” I am so grateful that Tina texted Bette to let her know she received the message. I hope Bette makes the connection that Tina has been interested in her for several months. So happy to hear that little G made it safe and sound!
NAG, you have an incredible way of telling a story that just pulls the reader in and makes them feel part of it. So much of your story talks about simple interaction with characters, but you make evrything sound so interesting. I’m hooked for life on anything you write, I swear! So, Bette’s learning patience and Tina is struggling with her feelings…this is such a good story.
Love this story, Bette is not one to move slow, she does need to let Tina move at her own pace.
In the last chapter Tina got some good advice from her mother and a college professor, now Bette got very good advice from her sister Kit. Both are lucky to have people in their lives that they can talk to. How long will it take before Alice puts it together or for that matter Shane?
