I’d love you but I just don’t think I’m good enough for that…. Ch. 2

I was doing the right thing Alice, I explained. How was it that we were fighting again? I did the right thing. We werent happy together

The sharp feel of Alices hand on my cheek didnt register for a few seconds. Then, when the icy pain began to settle in on my face, I realised that she had slapped me. I looked up at her, surprised by her actions, only to find Alices tear-drenched face staring back at me in disbelief.

I cant believe you Dana, she mumbled, not once removing her gaze off my face. We fought once or twice and so you immediately come to the conclusion that we were unhappy? I was never unhappy with you. I loved you. And maybe you were scared, or doubted what we had but I know that when we were together you werent unhappy either.

I didnt reply. There was no need too. She was right.

You need to stop running away from every good thing in your life just because it gets a little scary a little real, Alice continued, her voice detached, almost unemotional, which was ironic considering that she still had a healthy stream of tears rolling down her cheeks. Because if you dont youre going to die a sad and lonely woman and no one deserves that.

I stood motionless as Alice began to pick up her bag, shaking her head gently, her eyes consistently aimed at the floor. I had hit a big nerve. I had hit a big nerve five years ago, and now it was back to taunt me.

And the worst part was that she was right about everything.

Alice I I began, not knowing what exactly it was I had to say. There was so much I had to say to her and picking out the right thing before she walked out that door; well it was a hard task. I-Im sorry.

Im sorry? Could have done a little better..

Dont look Im sorry, I shouldnt have come here, Alice replied quickly, a slight crimson tint appearing on her cheeks as she made her way over to the door. I didnt come here to lecture you Dana, really. But obviously the wounds are still a little fresh for us to act as friends.

    1. Alfred…yeah I love the goofy names we love to pick for these “other men” Angus, Alfred…Lisa yeah the new story is wonderful I just hope you haven’t given up on Soul Singing

    2. Yes, there certainly is a lack of (good) communcation between these two. It’s gonna be hard for Dana to win Alice back, but I’ll wait and see. ;) As for Soul Singing. Let them have dinner and let them realize that they are meant to be…no matter what (*a helpless romantic*). :D (And they’re gonna live happily ever after in Danishville. :D)

    3. bojangles – i love this new story of yours. so cute and full of angst. my favorites. anyway – post soon. and don’t give up on soul singing. its too good to let drop. if i think of something to help you with i will let you know. your rock. great job!

    4. you captured their feelings really good. I really liked this. It’s deep. And it’s somthing that was missing in the show. Among other 1000 things. Can’t wait for more!

    5. OMG, ALFRED!!! that is so fucked up. he has got to be the most boring, up tight, asshole in the world. is that alice’s attempt tp find someone “better” than dana. lets just face it, you can’t get no better than dana. LOVING IT!!! please post soon. PEACE.

    6. They have always lacked in the communication department. I love that Alice’s fiance is named ALFRED! I literally was laughing out loud when I read that…priceless. Great update! As for Soul Singing, I would love to see a happy Danish-even just a little bit :) Since the writers on the show only like to portray the only relationships that work out as straight relationships, I’d like to see a couple actually be happy. I also have always loved the music spin (you know with Alice and her band) that you’ve put on your story. I would love to see Alice on tour and Dana showing up…anyways I’ll stop rambling. I hope the story starts to flow again, it is my favorite Danish story!:)
