As I was running, I thought I recognised Tina’s blonde hair on a distance, but talked myself out of the idea. It was ridicolous, not every blonde was Tina.

But as I came closer, I saw it was her. Someone had thrown an arm around her and I felt the jealousy coming up. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it was Shane. She had been lying to me!

When I was close enough, I stopped in front of Tina. Tina looked annoyed and wanted to go on, but I didn’t let her.

“Wait, Tina, we need to talk. Where were you yesterday? Why didn’t you come?”
“Get away, Bette, please. I don’t want to see you.”

“Tina, please!” Bette begged her. She was feeling so desperate she thought she would die of frustration if Tina wouldn’t allow her to talk to her, if she would give her the cold shoulder.

That’s what you do to her, this is how she feels when you give her the cold shoulder.

“Didn’t you hear her? Get out of the way,” Shane said.

“This is between Tina and me,” I snapped at her. It was the first time I saw her that close and it was the first time I hated her.

“It was until you hurt Tina real bad, she’s my friend and nobody treats her like that. Now, out of the way.”

“Forget it.” I was determinded. I pulled Tina away from Shane and dragged her after a wall. I took her face in my hands and kissed her. She struggled, but I didn’t let her go.

She finally managed it. “Don’t do this to me, Bette!”

I had tears in my eyes. “Tina, please! Where were you yesterdat?”

“I was there. Too early, apparently. You were still saying goodbye to Billy.”

“What? I got rid of him!”

“You kissed him.”

“To make it credible. To make him believe I love him.”

“Why?”

“Because…” I didn’t have an answer to that one. “Let’s talk about it, please, come with me. Tina, please, I love you.”

She looked at me, dumbstruck. I wondered what was wrong. Than it struck me. I had told her I loved her. I hadn’t even admitted that to myself.

“You… you mean that?”

“More than anything.”

“Then proove it.”

“How?”

“Break up with Billy.”

There was nothing in the world that I wouldn’t have done for Tina, so I took my cellphone. I shaked as I dialled Billy’s number.

“Billy? Yes, it’s Bette. I’m sorry, Billy. It’s over.”

I looked at Tina, expecting her to be happy and to kiss me. She looked at me and said:

“I’m glad you did that. You had to do it for yourself. Now get your head clear and we’ll see what happens.”

“What?” I couldn’t believe my ears.

“Shane’s waiting.” And off she was, leaving me alone and confused. What the hell?

“FUCK!” I screamed.
