    Author Notes:

    Tina smiled, taking Bette’s hand in hers and leading her down the hall. “Come on, beautiful.”

    Slightly worried, Tina checked in the laundry room and in the bathroom before making her way to the living room. Sure enough, there was Bette, sleeping on the couch. Tina wondered why Bette felt the need – did Bette think she was so upset she wouldn’t even sleep next to her? She let out a sigh at the thought, and took a blanket from the back of their other couch, covering most of Bette with it. She didn’t want to wake her up now, in the middle of the night. She would rather Bette get some sleep.

    “I love you,” Tina whispered, leaning down and kissing Bette lightly on the cheek. “Sleep tight.” And then she returned to her room, wondering how she could make it up to Bette tomorrow.

    “Here, Mr. Ginger.”

    Bette shifted a bit in her semi-sleep, confused at the child’s voice before her.

    “Just don’t wake her up.”

    Furrowing her brows, Bette noticed that Angelica was whispering. When she opened her eyes, she jumped. “Ahh! Shit!” She pulled the small blanket as she sat up on the couch, totally taken by surprise.

    Angelica had a transformer toy on the couch, and it was inches from her eyes as she opened them. “Who …” she was going to ask who was supposed to be taking care of her, but then realized all over again where she was. “Oh.”

    “Shit.”

    Bette’s eyes bugged out and she suddenly felt very guilty – she had inititated that language. “Oh crap.”

    “Crap.”

    Angelica was mimicking the new words, and Bette knew she would be in trouble now. “Okay … I can do this.”

    “What’s those words?”

    “Angelica?” Bette started, wishing there was some sort of off switch. She needed to fix this before Tina woke up. “You can’t say those words, okay?”

    “Why not, Mommy?”

    Bette tried desperately to think of something – anything – that would get this child to stop swearing. She scratched her head. “Umm … well … you can only use them if you’re … this high.” Bette stood to her feet and placed her hand over her head. ‘Good thinking, Porter. There’s no way this can come back to bite you in the ass now.’

    Angelica just smiled again. “Okay Mommy.”

    “Oh good, you’re awake,” Tina smiled, lifting her hands into a stretch.

    Bette forced her eyes away from Tina’s beautiful chest – she wanted so desperately to look closely, but she still had some willpower.

    “I waked Mommy,” Angelica smiled, admitting in her own way that she had scared Bette awake again.

    “Angel, you can’t keep doing that,” Tina chuckled, walking over and scooping Angelica up again. “Did you sleep well baby?”

    Angelica’s eyes widened at the new height, and she looked back to Bette – proud to use a new word she had learned. “Shit.”

    Tina was taken by complete shock. Where on earth could her little girl have learned that word? “Angelica!” She looked to the girl in her arms, surprising even her child. “Where did you learn that word?!”

    ‘Maybe she won’t say …’ Bette thought nervously.

    “Mommy.”

    ‘Shit.’

I’m not a parent but I am an aunt and have gotten myself in trouble more than a few times with the words I’ve chosen to use in front of my precious little niece.     29. Hi Biissexi, Great update as you proved that kids get you into so much trouble. It was adorable to have Bette and Tina cuddling each other at the unwashed dinner plates as these simple moments are what makes life worth living. Then Bette was follish in answering Angelica question truthfully. Tina was tense and mad however Bette managed to dig herself out of this hole by making amends with Angie. It is so cute reading how childish Bette can be and how much she is starting to love this child. Bette retreated to the couch which intrigued Tina. I do hope this pair reunite their spark and have a very eventful evening and night. Perhaps Angie could be at Auntie Kit’s for a sleepover. Just brilliant and cheering me up no end.
