    Tina smiled, taking Bette’s hand in hers and leading her down the hall. “Come on, beautiful.”

     

    Dinner was surprisingly good, given that it was lasagna, which Bette had never really enjoyed. Still, she found herself liking the particular dish, and was surprised even after the fact at the home cooked warmth to it.

    However, Bette was still struggling with all of this, wanting stillto get back to her life. She didn’t know any of this, and was completely clueless about this strange family responsibility. She hated being clueless, and frowned as she went to work at the dishes – another thing she hated.

    “You’re awfully quiet this evening,” Tina whispered, two arms slipping around Bette’s waist, which made Bette’s breath catch in her throat.

    “… Yes.”

    “Are you okay?” Tina smiled, holding Bette close. She loved the comforting body before her, and couldn’t wait until she could be held. She loved the way Bette would hold her at night, in the warmth of their bed.

    Bette closed her eyes at how comforted she was with Tina’s arms around her. Before that moment, she had forgotten the notion of such intimacy, but she was instantly at ease. She couldn’t help but smile at Tina’s effortless impact on her. “Mmm … now I am.”

    “Is this what you needed?” Tina smiled, hugging a bit tighter as she relaxed there behind Bette. “Mmm … let’s leave the rest of these dishes. I wanna cuddle.”

    Bette chuckled at the many memories she had of Tina, and how cuddling had always been one of her favorite things. “You still love that, huh?”

    “Yeah, since yesterday,” Tina chuckled, rolling her eyes playfully.

    Bette turned, realizing her mistake. She was married to this woman! “Oh. No, I know … I just …”

    “I’m kidding,” Tina smiled, taking Bette’s hand in hers and leading her down the hall. “Come on, beautiful.”

    Obstructing their way was the little girl again, a stuffed toy in her arms and her puppy dog eyes as big as ever. Tina stopped at the sight and Bette collided into the back of her, suddenly enjoying this proximity. She innocently rested her hands on Tina’s hips.

    “Do you wanna play?” Angelica asked, holding her little toy up with hopefulness.

    Just as Tina thought of what to say to her little girl, Bette responded.

    “No, not really.”

    Tina would have laughed if it wasn’t so horribly, outrageously rude. “Bette!” She turned around, and away from the hands that held her.

    29. Hi Biissexi, Great update as you proved that kids get you into so much trouble. It was adorable to have Bette and Tina cuddling each other at the unwashed dinner plates as these simple moments are what makes life worth living. Then Bette was follish in answering Angelica question truthfully. Tina was tense and mad however Bette managed to dig herself out of this hole by making amends with Angie. It is so cute reading how childish Bette can be and how much she is starting to love this child. Bette retreated to the couch which intrigued Tina. I do hope this pair reunite their spark and have a very eventful evening and night. Perhaps Angie could be at Auntie Kit’s for a sleepover. Just brilliant and cheering me up no end.
