“I’m sorry sweetie… I guess Mommy’s not very good at this.” Bette’s eyes filled with tears as she thought of the torture she had subjected her little girl to. “You know Mommy loves you right baby… and I would never hurt you on purpose… Right?”
Skyler’s tear streaked face looked up at Bette and nodded yes.
“I think Mommy needs a little more practice fixing your hair.. huh?”
Again Skyler nodded yes.
“What do you say we work on that curly pony-tail you wanted?” Bette thought to her self ‘At least that way I’ll be far enough away from her scalp I shouldn’t be able to burn her.’
Skyler’s face lit up. “Really Mommy?”
“Yes baby really!”
“What about Momma?”
“We will just make sure it’s the best looking curly pony-tail ever!”
Sky smiled feeling like she and Bette were going to pull one over on her Momma. Bette goes to work on Skyler’s hair determined to do it right and make it up to her little girl. By the time she was done Sky had a mass of curls with little braids running throughout. Bette stood back and looked at her work. She spun Sky around and held up a mirror so she could see the back for herself.
“Mommy that’s cool!”
“You really like it baby girl?”
“I do Mommy!”
“Alright then let’s go show Momma.” ‘and hope she likes it to’ she thought to herself.
“Momma! Momma!” Sky yelled as she ran up the stairs.
“Momma look Mommy did my hair… It’s cool”
“Well look at you” Tina said as she tried to figure out what happened to her daughter’s hair.
“It looks great sweetie” It really did it was just not what she was expecting. “I thought we were going for down today?” Tina asked Bette who stood there with a shy smile.
“Well… see… I … I tried T.. I really did… butthehotrollerswouldn’tworkandIdroppedthemandhurtherandshewascryinganditjustdidn’twork!” the words were flying so fast from Bette’s mouth all Tina caught was hot rollers, didn’t work, and crying and from that she had a good idea of what had happened. She had made a failed attempt with the hot rollers herself, but knew with Bette’s intensity and determination it would have been a sight to see.

I agree with the readers above me, this is going way too smoothly. Either Bette’s water breaks or jodi shows up at the court hearing and throws a shoe in the works. Can hardly wait for the next chapter. PPS
