“I love you to Bette.”
* * * * *
“Alright you are gonna take Sky in our bathroom and I’m taking Ley-Ley in their bathroom right?”
“That’s the plan”
“You sure your up to this?”
“I think I can handle it T. I’ve been doing my own hair for years, and I have been helping you get them ready for school for months.”
“Ok babe, just holler of you need some help.”
“T I can handle it!”
“Ok babe” Tina headed up stairs with Hailey and Bette headed into the bathroom with Skyler.
“Mommy.. your gonna fix my hair?”
“Yep sweetie I sure am.”
“Don’t we have to get dressed up?” Skyler was a little confused. Bette had fixed her hair for school before, but never when they had to get dressed up. That was always her Momma or Auntie Shane.
“We sure do Sky… today is a very important day.”
“Today we get adopted right Mommy?”
“That’s right sweetie. So we better start getting you ready.”
“Can I have a curly pony-tail Mommy?”
“Not today sweetie, Momma wants you girls to look extra special.”
“Ok” Skyler was disappointed but knew better than to fight it. She knew even at five that today was a special day that would change her young life forever.
Bette sat Skyler down at her vanity. Skyler smiled they were not usually allowed any where near it. Bette pulled the lid off her hot rollers.
“What’s that” Skyler asked reaching right for one of the rollers. Bette quickly intercepted her little hand.
“Woooh honey don’t touch those they are very hot.”
“What are they for?”
“To make your hair curly honey.”
Sky looked at Bette like she was speaking another language. Her eyes got big. “That’s not how Momma does it.”
“I know sweetie.. but Momma and I couldn’t find the spongy rollers she usually uses” Bette sectioned off par of Sky’s hair and reached for a roller. Bette quickly realized this was not going to be as easy as she thought. 10 minutes of frustration, a few dropped rollers, and a crying Skyler. Bette gave up on the hot rollers.

I agree with the readers above me, this is going way too smoothly. Either Bette’s water breaks or jodi shows up at the court hearing and throws a shoe in the works. Can hardly wait for the next chapter. PPS
