Bitter Endings, Sweet Beginnings: Part Five
Tilting her head in consideration as the loud thrum of the music washed
over her, Helena placed her hands on Alice’s hips and smoothly pulled
the blonde in and spun her around gently so her back was pressed
against the British woman’s chest. Dipping her head down, breath warm
and tickling Alice’s skin, Helena said in a husky murmur, “I would far
prefer to continue dancing with you, darling.” She paused to slide her
right hand from the writer’s hip and up her body, pushing aside blonde
hair, making Alice shiver as she said, “If you wouldn’t mind it.”
“I don’t mind it,” Alice squeaked nervously, groaning and swallowing
quickly and willing her voice to go back to normal. Feeling very happy
when it sounded like its usual self when she looked up at Helena to
grin and say wryly, “Even though the lyrics of this song SO are not the
typical slow dancing variety.”
Sliding her right hand back down to Alice’s hip and gracefully pulling
the blonde back into her body as she began a sensual side to side sway
to the beat, Helena tipped her head back and listened to the lyrics of
the song for the first time since it started playing.
“***** Liquor! Do it quicker!”
“Yeah, we like to get fucked up.”
“Yeah, I like to get fucked up too.”
“Yeah, I bet you do!”
“Don’t you know something they won’t tell? C’mon, man. Send them to a *****.”
Chuckling and raising an eyebrow, Helena met Alice’s eyes as the
journalist grinned mischievously at her, leaning her head back to rest
on Helena’s shoulder while they continued their slow side to side
dance. “I don’t know,” she murmured teasingly. “Perhaps this is the
romantic music for the Manson family.”
“Family values are a groovy thing,” drawled Alice, laughing at how
Helena groaned and rolled her eyes while keeping up the slow beat of
their dance.
“We should be concentrating on the dance,” Helena observed, ducking her
head down and pressing a light kiss to the back of Alice’s head.
And then Helena’s left hand led a lazy path away from the blonde’s hip,
fingers flexing outwards to rest against the flat skin of her stomach.
Knowing all the while she shouldn’t take pride or joy in the way Alice
shivered at her touch or love being close enough that her clothing
would now carry that light and lovely scent she associated simply as
Alice. She knew all of that but somehow it didn’t matter. Not in this
moment and certainly not with Alice in her arms.

I’m going to kick some serious a$$ if they don’t stop working you so hard. Just tell me who, and you’ve got it. Tell them you have too many fans, checking daily for your wonderful writing to worry about such things like work or school or paying bills. Have you ever heard of Social Programs, they could help pay your bills, so you can devote all your time to us. LOL So glad to see you back, missed your writing.
