Bette: “His name is Dylan Graham. He’s a friend of James.”

Tina: “What? You told James?”

Bette: “Well, I mentioned that we were trying….you know, and he said he had a friend who would be interested.”

Tina: “I thought we weren’t telling anyone.”

Bette: “We never discussed it. I mean, I’m not ready to make a public announcement, just yet, but I didn’t think it was a big secret, either.”

Tina: “Ok well, you can’t get mad at me then.”

Bette: “Why?”

Tina: “I kind of told Alice and Shane yesterday at the Planet.”

Bette: “Oh God! Alice?! You may as well have broadcast it on the six o’clock news. What were you thinking?”

Tina: “Well, like you said it’s not a big secret, really…..and besides, they knew something was up because I’m on leave from work. Did you really think they were going to let that go without some sort of explanation?”

Bette: “Yeah, you’re right. I just hope Alice can keep her mouth shut, at least, until things are a little more concrete.”

Tina: “Well, she’s doing pretty good at keeping quiet. She didn’t tell you I told her, yesterday when she came by.”

Bette: “That’s true. Surprisingly, true. Well, ok, I’m not mad, but let’s not jinx this thing, ok?”

Tina: “Agreed, so what does this, Dylan, look like? Is he what we’re looking for? and Why is he interested in donating to two people he doesn’t even know?”

Bette: “Ok to answer your questions. First, he’s tall and handsome with similar features to you. Blond hair, green eyes, etc. Which makes him perfect if we’re using my egg because then the baby will look lik you and I. He’s an incredible painter, but doesn’t like to show his work. It’s a shame because from what I’ve seen he’s extremely talented. And as far as his reasons, I don’t know ,but he said that he would like to sit down and talk with both of us, personally, before making any decisions. So that sounds thoughtful, right?”

Tina: “Yeah, he sounds great.”

Bette: “Tina, I think he is better than we could have asked for. Also, he wants to have dinner with us tomorrow night so he can meet you and talk with us. I explained to him that we are ready to get this thing going ASAP, but we’re waiting to find a donor. He said if we all decide to go through with this he would be willing to go to the cryobank as early as next week to donate.”

Tina: “Damn, he sounds almost too good to be true.”

Bette: “I know, I think you’re going to love him and I can’t wait to have this baby with you.”

Tina looks thoughtfully into Bette’s sparkling eyes, “I love you so much. Thank you for working so hard to make me happy.”

Bette kisses Tina’s hand, “No, thank you…..for being my wife and giving me the honor of making you happy.”
