Before I fall in love (5/10) – a Bette and Helena story
Alice took a deep breath and threw her arms open wide. “Hawaii!” She shouted, an ecstatic expression crossing her face.
Bette tilted her sunglasses and turned to look at the steady stream of people passing them by. “I think they already know.” She remarked dryly.
Her comment was studiously ignored. Alice waved a brochure at them brightly. “What shall it be, ladies? Shall we decide on a day of fun and games?”
They all clustered around the brochure like oblivious tourists. The result was inevitable, Bette thought gloomily. Everyone would peruse the glossy printed pages with great interest, and decide on the one thing they knew about Hawaii.
“I say the beach.” Shane said, with an air of someone making a difficult decision.
“Definitely.” Alice agreed. “Hawaii is famous for her beaches.”
“I third the motion.” Jenny said, nodding.
Her first vacation in five years, and it was going to be spent at a beach. These people had no life, Bette thought with an inner sigh. All that time to be wasted on useless leisure, when so much could be gained by studying the rich local culture of the islands. What was at the beach but sun, sea, and fish?
“I rather explore a little, actually.” Helena said thoughtfully. “Not that I don’t want to go to the beach, but I could leave it till after tomorrow.”
Bette perked up. Helena or no Helena, this was her chance. “We could visit the local art museums.” She suggested, flipping through the brochure so that she could point out the right pages. “We can probably cover them in three days or so.”
“Three days?” Alice asked incredulously. “You want to visit museums for three days? Bette, you’re getting boring.”
“Well, I’m not coming all the way here just to see a beach.” She retorted huffily. “And there’s nothing boring about art.”
“There’s such a thing as too much art.”
“Why don’t we just split?” Helena said equitably, before it could become a full fledged argument. “I don’t mind doing some exploring, so Bette and I can walk around tomorrow while you all head off to the beach. We can always join each other at night.”

I love a story that puts Bette & Helena together. So many people are so stuff on B&T forever that they cant invision anything else. WTG!!!………..Max, why is he there? Damn.
stuff = stuck
Excellent chapter, missed this story, glad your back, id have to agree with vvitch, dont stress about the ratings i think there are people on this site who will give a low rating because they don’t like the bette and helena pairing rather than rate you on how good your story is, very sad, so again dont stress about the ratings, go by the comments you get, which as you can see thus far have been very positive. so do please continue, eagerly awaiting your next installment. thank you.
More, more….I’m thirsty for more!
They are taking baby steps and getting to know one another. Please continue.
