“Tina…we share an amazing connection. I feel it too.” Bette said softly.
“But I’ve never felt this way before…” Tina began.
“Neither have I,” Bette answered honestly.
Tina took a deep breath and grabbed unto the rail for support. “Because I am straight.”
‘Fuck! She’s hetero?’ It was Bette’s turn to steady herself and she clenched tightly unto the yacht’s railing.
Tina immediately looked away to shield her embarrassment and focused intently on the Pacific waters below.
Bette took a moment to process what she had just heard. She then spoke in the softest voice. “Tina…”
The sweet sound of Bette’s voice caused Tina to glance at her. “Yes?”
“Thank you for being honest.” Bette let out a soft chuckle. “To set the record straight, so to speak, I want you to know that I’m gay.”
Tina released a small nervous laugh. “Yeah, I kind of knew that.”
Bette arched her eyebrow. “So you have gaydar now?”
Tina shrugged. “Maybe.”
“Flirt. Tease. Now lesbian.” Bette smiled. “Like I’ve been saying all night, it takes one to know one.”
Tina playfully swatted Bette’s arm. “I just had to get that out there and be completely open with you. I am having such a great time with you, Bette.”
“Thank you for your honesty.” Bette gave her a warm smile. “I love being in your company Tina. That’s all I want, to have the pleasure of your company.” Bette wanted to reassure Tina of her sincere intentions. “There is no pressure whatsoever…only what you wish to happen will happen. Okay?”
Tina was relieved with Bette’s words and they caused her to fall even harder for the caramel skinned beauty. “Bette…you make me feel like….I’m the only woman here for miles and miles.”
Bette looked around at the scenery, “Considering we’re on a luxury yacht in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with an all male crew,” Bette teased, “You are the only woman here.”
“Smart ass! You know what I mean!” Tina pouted.
“My, such colorful language. Not very becoming, Mother Theresa.”
Tina playfully swatted Bette on the arm and chuckled.
Bette pretended to rub her arm in pain. “You know, you’re going to leave bruises with all the hitting.”
