Allison and Steve both laughed at the little girls attempt to imitate Steve’s dad

“OK I like to be Kennard” Chrissie said with a huge smile on her face.

“Does that mean that I can call you mommy and daddy like Matty does?”

Both Steve and Allison had tears in their eyes, that’s all they ever wanted since meeting Chrissie was to become her parents.

“We would love it VERY, VERY much if you would call us mommy and daddy” Alley said with tears in her eyes.

“Are you sad…?”

“No. honey this is one of the happiest days of my life”

“Why are you crying?”

“Oh I remember what Miss Kit said tears of joy right?”

“Right honey tears of joy” Alley answered

“Miss Kit! Lizzy!” Chrissie ran over to greet them and give them a hug as she saw then walking towards them

“Kit, Elizabeth” Steve stood up “Im so glad you guys were able to make it”

“Hey we wouldn’t miss it for the world”

“Yeah thanks to you Chrissie I got to play hooky from school” Lizzy said

“What’s Hooky” Chrissie asked

“Never mind you twirp” Lizzzy answered

“Hey Lizzy guess what? I’m going to officially be a Kennard today”

“Well congrats my little genius, that’s a very good thing”

As the years progressed, the bond between Christina and the Kennard’s grew it was almost as if Christina had always been a part of their family.

Christina loved being Matthew’s big sister and they spent a lot of time playing together. Christina was thriving at school and had made many new friends. Alley and Steve kept in very close touch with Kit since they were college friends and lived fairly close to each other and often had weekend BBQ’s at each others houses.

Despite the 7 year age difference in their age Lizzy and Chrissie spent a lot f time together they became great friends, Since none of Lizzy’s friends were as interested in art like she was she, often invited Chrissie to join her, Chrissie had developed a huge love for art and though Lizzy always made fun of her lack of talent in drawing Chrissie loved looking at all the beautiful paintings, sculptures and pictures in the museums they visited like Lizzy she often found herself lost in the beautiful paintings she would see.  Chrissie especially loved hearing the way LIzzy described they various pieces of art they would see. 

 Kit would also drive the two girls down to the beach where they spent a lot of time just basking in the sun and swimming in the water, Chrissie really didn’t know why she enjoyed being at the beach so much she found the beach brought her calm the way the waves hit the sand and the sound the ocean, made her feel at home.
