    Author Notes:

    No… I just got her back. Tears and tears.

    “This is Chris.” He says. Tina could here from his voice that something bad has happened.

    “Chris, it’s Tina, what happened?” She asks.

    Chris starts to cry. “Chris, tell me, what’s wrong?” She asks again.

    “Mom, she had a heart attack” He replies.

    Tina’s eyes well up with tears. Bette put her hand on Tina’s shoulder gently.

    “Is she okay? How is she?” Tina asks.

    “Tina, she didn’t make it” Chris cries out

    “No” Tina starts to cry, her knees give in. Bette holds her. Tina cries hard. Bette guides her over to the bed, where they sit down. Bette holds on to Tina, and Tina holds on tight to Bette.

    She lets go of the phone.

    After a little while, Tina stops crying, just to catch her breath.

    “I just got her back.” Tina says in a soft voice looking up at Bette, her eyes still very teary.

    “I know baby.” Bette says softly back. Tina starts to cry again. Bette just holds her, trying her best to comfort her.

    “I have to go there.” Tina says starting to cry again.

    “And I’ll come with you.” Bette says.

    “No, your game, I don’t want you to ruin your chance of playing in the tour.” Tina says.

    “Baby, you are far more important than me playing golf. I love you, we’re getting married, and it’s my job to be by your side.” Bette says.

    “I love you too, but I want you to play. Please.” Tina says in a pleading voice.

    “Why don’t you want me there?” Bette asks, still holding on to Tina closely, but a little hurt.

    “I I need to do this alone. I will have to meet dad. It will be more difficult with you there. Please understand I do want you there, you have no idea how much, but I need to do this alone.” Tina says, wiping away a few tears.

    Bette hugs Tina tightly.

    “I need to book a flight down there. Do you have the key to the apartment with you?” Tina asks.

    “Yes, it’s on my keychain.” Bette replies. “Why don’t you lays down for a little while, I’ll book your plane for you.” Bette says.

    Tina lay down, closing her eyes. Bette sneaks out to the hallway.

    1. I’m happy that Tina and her mom had a chance to talk before her mother’s death. Sad chapter, Luaren. Seeing her father should cause some drama.

    3. Wow. I was so happy to see you posted and then my joy turned to sorrow…but in a good way! Your story moved me to sorrow, so that’s good, right? Sigh. Poor Tina.

    5. oh my how sad…by al least Tina had the chance to forgive her mom before she died now i hope her father do the same thing life is too short if you have to say sorry for someone or make it up a mistake do it before is to late…i think Bette will not be so well in her game without Tina and i love that Bette she have a heart and really care about Tina ok ..2 in one day are you trying to spoil us?..lol..amazing chapter as always :o)

    7. Aaaawww! I was hoping that Tina’s mom would be in attendance at their wedding. But, I guess that’s why we shouldn’t let little things get in the way of what’s important, and that’s family! Glad they at least had some time to reconcile before this permanent separation. (NO, chance of a soap opera ‘reappearance’? Sorry, just very sad that Tina had to loose her mom. Guess this will make Jessie rethink getting together with her own mom. Hope nothing inappropriate is happening with the foster father, either. Just hate to think of any kid going thru that kind of experience. She’s had it rough enough as it is.
